Hi Lisa, Thanks for reminding me SF Kool aid just went on my list. I would not have this much but my Dr. requires the 2 week liquids only diet before surgery which I also start on Dec. 29th (we can support each other all the way!) I wish I knew about the Medifast diet so I could tell you about it, sorry. I know if you ask about on the main forum you will get all the info on it. As far as vitamins, the B-12 dissolves under your tongue and the Calcium Citrate is usually a liquid or a lozenge (silly me got chewable, and found out it was Calcium Carbonate NOT Citrate) I am going to fix this ASAP. Oh yes, I wanted to tell you I would try protein shakes like I have do not wait until post- op. I am not lactose intolerant but for some reason after I drink a shake w/ skim milk I get so bloated and gassy (sorry gross) I am switching to soy milk to see if that helps. If I can think of anything else I will post it right away and keep me updated. Robin
LISA- MEDIFAST IS A LIQUID DIET DEPENDING ON WHAT YOUR DOCTOR WANTS YOU MAY HAVE THE CHOICE OF ONE MEAL PER DAY. THE DRINKS ARENT GREAT BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT! I MIGHT SUGGEST THAT YOU BUY VANILLIA AND THEN GET SOME SUGAR FREE FLAVORS OR ADD A COUPLE TABLESPOONS OF FLAVORED COFFEE CREAMER! BEST OF LUCK! Hi my January buddies! Robin glad you have met some of our crew.. Time sure is flying and the only thing I have stocked up on is Crystal light!! Is anyone else being lazy about the liquid diet??
I know i have to start on January 3rd but I feel I should be doing something now and I haven't even tried!!! I guess with the holidays I am being lazy. I hope to get my butt in gear after Christmas.
Robin, I was going to ask if your doctor made you go thru all the evaluation testing, endoscopy, cardio etc.. So you are stuck with the 2 week liquid diet as well..
Well all in all I am excited and can't wait.. we will all do great!!

Hi Robin and glad to hear your happy news also Yoly~ I have an appt with my surgeon and nutritionist on the 26th and I am sure I will have to start my pre op diet on Saturday! I hate!!! creamy drinks! I have a real hard time trying to get them down. But I figure if I sip it maybe, I wish they would make a protein fruity drink! I am hoping to talk to Vickie and see what she thinks. I am so excited, I want to tell everyone!! I hope to keep in touch with you both. God Bless! Cathy

I hope this helps everyone that is looking for some alternatives to creamy shakes and we will all want to change things up a bit every now and again. I will be getting the unjury unflavored to add to broths, SF Puddings, Coffees, SF Kool-Aid, I have heard you just get sick of the shakes after a while- but we still need our protein. Robin
