NOW ITS HERE AND I FEEL LIKE IM MESSING IT ALL UP.  THE LAST THING I WANT TO DO IS TO GO FOR MY PRE OP AND THEY TELL ME THEY CAN'T DO IT.

dont be nervous although i know how you feel. its so hard to make all these changes but just remeber we are doing them for our health. your not going to mess anything up. just try to do once thing at a time. you have the rest of your life to perfect it.

My life is like McDonalds....I'm Lovin It

Just do the best that you can to follow the pre-op instructions your surgeon gave you. Give it all you have, but don't beat yourself up for a few little slips. We are all having this surgery because we have tried over and over again to stick to a healthy lifestyle and have been unsuccessful. Why would you expect to be 100% now, especially with the stress of the surgery coming up.

Remember, the RNY is the tool that will help you to stick to your eating plan postoperatively- you don't have that tool now.

I have found it helpful to plan what I'm going to eat in advance and to write down every single thing that I put in my mouth. It's good practice for being accountable after surgery. You have a full month- make the most of it!
Good Luck!

You can do it! I have to have 6 weeks on Medifast, which is a liquid protein shake diet. I am now starting my 4th week.  The first 3 weeks i was allowed to eat one lean protien and some salad but now no more.  Only 5 shakes a day.  And with the holidays, it has not been fun!  I have lost 15 pounds so far and i have not been faithfull at all.  I think i've cheated every day.  You can do it, just take it one day at a time!

Sorry you are having a hard time. How much do you have to lose for your pre-op?

Hang in there.  Try not to worry.  I still have not even gotten the diet instructions yet.  Its low carb right?  Please don't give up!  This surgery will change your life so much for the better!  Its just one month, you CAN do it!!

Hey Genblosum,

How are you messing up? What cant you do?

4 more days and I will be one month from my surgery....I'm doing OK but only because of the holidays and such. I have a feeling when I start my liquid diet on the 5Th of Jan. that its all going to hit me. I think I am going to talk to my doctor about maybe taking a little something to calm me down and help with the anxiety if it gets to be too much for me.

Hang in there. Come here and post  as often as you need to. Some one is always here and can post back to you quickly. I only get on here about once a week now. I read daily but only have time to post on the weekends. (mainly Sundays)  We are all going ( or are going to be) going through what you are. We are all here for you. Don't be too hard on yourself. You can do this!!
