Hi Laurie, Welcome to the board. Sounds like you have made some great changes and the work outs are awesome. I don't ever go to the main board. Too much drama. I just post here, and on the Oklahoma forum. It is great to meet you. congrats on the surgery date. That is the same day I go for my pre-op with the surgeon.

Emily,
Once you go for the pre-op appt. you should have a date in no time. This is so exciting, isn't it??

Hi Kim,
You're really starting off the NY right! Do you have to follow a special diet pre-op, or will you be able to enjoy the Holiday? Hopefully you won't be on a liquid diet. Just think, by spring time we should be looking and feeling better!

Well i've been on Medifast, a liquid protein shake diet for almost 4 weeks now. I have to lose 10% of my weight. I've lost 15 pounds already.  I have cheated as it is not easy and they really can't expect us to be saints when we obviously have a problem with food.  i plan on having a little bit to eat on the holiday.  I had some thanksgiving food as well.  We will be feeling so much better soon!

Kim,
Are you allowed one meal a day with the Medifast? I don't think that I could do that for 4 weeks. I almost feel guilty that I don't have to follow a strict pre-op diet. I am being careful of what I eat and have cut out sweets and most simple carbs, for the most part. But I wasn't required to lose before surgery. Keep up the good work- Congrats on your loss so far, and Happy Holidays!
