Can't Wait to feel well!
I was just thinking that I can't wait to have the energy to really live my life. I feel as if I'm just existing now- when the weekends come I don't have energy to do a thing.
I'm doing some small things to prepare for surgery, like cutting down on carbs, cutting out sweets completely (difficult to do over the Holidays, but I will stick to it), and cutting down on the coffee. I'm down to 1 cup of coffee in the morning now, and I'll probably cut that out after next week- I'm really going to miss my coffee! I exercise regularly, and I have for some time. The doc I work with and I do 30 minutes on the eliptical at lunch time 4-5 days/week. I have free access to the gym at work, so I will have to start doing weight training, also.
It's nice to find this small group of people on OH- the main board can get pretty nasty and petty.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
Welcome and congrats on your surg date. Mine is the 19th.
What I really can't wait for is the ability to tie my shoes without puffing and panting. And shopping in the regular womens department.
I quit smoking for this surgery. today is day 12 smoke free. I'm using Chantix with good results. I have been trying to lose weight but that hasn't been so successfull. I have bought a treadmill ame workout on it daily.
Looking forward to getting to kow you, post often.

Deb...i really never thought this day would actually come!
I thought about it..i had a dream once about it...but its really going to happen.
Do you think you can handle a 2 week liquid diet? I'm pretty sure ill be OK. Of course as soon as my head gets the message that i "CANT" have food ill be hungry. Lately i have not been hungry for anything. I HAVE to start drinking more. ( water that is...LOL)
I also have to get moving...its been so dang cold here i cant stand to be outside any longer then i have to. We are getting a YMCA membership in JAN....this time i am really excited about it and can actually see myself going and using it.
It really is all falling into place. I am so glad that i have someone who understands that and is just as excited as I am. I think everyone around me is pretty sick of hearing it...LOL
I have a count down for everything...my liquid diet, my EGD and my surgery. I start sentences off with...:this time next year...." and " this is the last time i will be this big...."
OH BOY! OH BOY! OH BOY!!
I say the same things, only to myself. We had a big family reunion and I couldn't help but wish that it was next year when I was skinnier. Oh, well.
I think I can do the 2 week liquid diet and I say that only because I bought some slim-fast and tried it for two meals a day for a while and I tolerated it real well. My doc allows five cans a day so I should survive.
I, too have been exercising more. We live kinda out in the sticks so going to a gym is almost impossible. So I bought a real nice treadmill last July. I walk and hour a day now and am working on adding some incline.
To celebrate quitting smoking, I went and got acrylic nails. So if I make some typos you understand why.
Gotta go
Hugs,
Deb
