Great question!!!!!

eating slower

not drinking with my meals...( that's a hard one) I'm going to have to really watch not drinking before meals or after too.

not eating out of emotion(anger, board, sad) and should probably quit snacking...i usually only do that out of boredom too.

giving up soda and caffeine...i have done pretty good with that....chocolate doesn't taste good anymore....and i only really crave a soda when i eat certain food or go to a certain restaurant. Shouldn't be a problem after surgery...i wont be doing either!!

trying to walk more....ugghhh....its too cold here to go for a long walk...but ill have to find a way to get in some cardio somehow!!

drinking more water....i started using the little crystal light packets on the go and they are not too bad. maybe ill start making a big picture of it to keep in the fridge!!

I am eating slower, taking smaller bites and using a smaller plate. I am trying to remember not to have liquids 30 minutes before or after I eat.

I bought a junior size sipee cup to help me drink in small sips.  I have given up cafeine in my soda, but not given up soda.  I am drinking less of it.

I am also doing slim fast two meals a day to help prepare me for th liquid diet.  Before I started doing that I wasn't convienced I could live on liquids only, now I feel more confident.

Hey Deb....

Do you get the powder slim-fast and make it yourself or get the stuff already made in cans??
I did slim-fast years ago and i cant remember...but i think it gave me gas and loose stool...LOL
Are you eating anything else or just eating 3 times a day??

I'm starting to get nervous...

I drink the  Slim-Fast Optima in cans for breakfast and lunch with no ill effects.  Then I eat a regular low fat low carb supper.  I was losing weight until I started making Christmas candy!

But I figure if I been making it till supper on 2 cans, I can go all day on the 5 cans my doc allows.

I have cut out carbonated drinks and and trying to eat smaller portions and chew chew chew.  I am also trying to learn to not drink with my meals.

I am trying to cut out caffeine, and did it  Friday with HORRID headaches, so I am trying again today.  Drinking a lot of hot green tea, and doing a protien shake by EAS for breakfast with 17 gr protien and only 110 calories.

I also started doing a Flinstone vitamin 2 times a day.  Tried the Centrum chewable and it was GROSS!  I got the B12 sublinguals too and am doing one every few days.

My doc also reccomended upping my cardio so I am doing that too.

I want to get on this serious program, but we leave for Disney in two weeks and I KNOW for those 12 days I am going to be kind of bad.  We have made reservations at all of the good restaurants and this is for my family both birthday and Christmas this year.

I am still going to try and practice moderation there as well!  But once I get back, my surgery is ten days later and for those ten days I am going to try to do liquid diet, even though my doc only calls for two days of it before surgery.

Hi Ashley,  Where do you get the EAS shakes.  My date is 1/8 and my nutrition class/pre-admission testing is 12/19, so I really need to get started.  I've been really trying to slow down eating along with not drinking during meals and it's soooooo hard..

Also, does anyone know of anyplace on the web where I can start purchasing my vitamins/supplements and it's inexpensive?

Kayla
