I am having surgery 1/15/09...anyone else have that day???

If anyone would tell me what happens on that day and what to expect I would really appreciate it. I  know I am going to wake up and my world is going to change, but I'm curious to how it's been for people, especially the first few months.

Thanks!

I am the day before you!  VERY excited and nervous at the same time.  Trying to plan out everything I need to do beforehand.
Good luck!

wow, so we'll be on the same kind of path. I have about 100 lbs to lose. I guess I am considered a "lightweight" when it comes to this surgery, how ever, 100 lbs has always been too much for me. I think this will be a great tool in helping aide my weight loss. I have been overweight my entire life, and I know this is a huge decision but I am ready to deal with it both mentally and physically for the sake of my health.

Good luck with everything!!!!

It sounds as if you are prepared to make a lifestyle change. good for you. I am too. I chose the RNY also. I can't wait to get a date. 100 pounds is very doable with the RNY. I need to lose 130 but I would be happy with 100 for sure.

Yeah and it all kind of happened at the perfect time b/c I am getting married sept 26th of this upcmoing year. I have been researching this for a long time and seeing the doctor since May. So, its been a long time coming. I have tried every diet known to man, so this will be the best tool I'm sure for the weight loss.

Good luck with everything!!!

I chose the RNY. I'm excited, but also very nervous. I am not sure what to expect after. I know I am going to follow everything without a doubt b/c I don't wanna end up sick and/or with complications, how ever, the list of foods they gave me to eat after the first  8 weeks is very small, so I think one big thing is I am going to ask around for some good things that people eat.

thanks. Jan 15th is right around the corner too!

Yes, I know that your food choices in the beginning is very limited. You will learn to love refried beans and scrambled eggs. I am not looking forward to that at all, but I will stick to it to the letter. No way will I go through the surgery just to mess it up. I know you will do great too.
