I think I know why I had to move everything back....... You see I had the $160 put up for the Nut appointment something just told me not to spend it and to reschedule with a medicare provider.......all this in the other post.
Well, last night our doxie, Kizer, drank a liter of water at one time. then  he had another seizure. Well, he has epilepsy and is on meds for it. So any way, he kind of smelled funky and was drinking so much I decided to take his blood sugar ( I am diabetic ). His BS was 408. So, I called the vet and he told me to bring him in this morning. So we went in and they ran some tests and our little dog has diabetes and is now on insulin. He aslo had to have his phenobarbital increasaed. When I got ready to leave it cost me $170 and I was told it may take a month to get his sugar regulated. So, I guess this is why I have had to wait. I need to be able to deal with my  daughter's dog and with her. she thinks she did something to cause it.... I have tried to talk to her,, but she is pretty upset about it. Prayers for all appreciated.

Thanks Amanda. Kizer is like another child and we were all upset. Madison is doing better. I got her to read some info on diabetes in dogs and about dachsunds too. Once I gave him his evening shot and she saw he was going to be all right with it she got a little bit better. Thanks for the hugs. I appreciate them

Im glad your daughter is doing better. My girls are very attached to our boxer and our little mutt. Its tough when they get sick. Kizer is lucky to have you all as his family!!

Hang in there. Your day is going to come soon!!

things are going really well so far. I have showed my daughter how to give Kizer his shot and he takes it like a trooper. I won't take his blood sugar again until tuesday. The vet said to take it every 3rd day and to call him with it so he can adjust the insulin if need be. I am looking forward to having a great Thanksgiving and Christmas. The last day of the year I go to the nut. So, I will be ready for 2009!! What a year it is going to be.
