Howdy all!

Hi there.  I went to my shrink visit this past monday and he said I was a good candidate.  That's done with and now next monday I go for all the rest of my testing..all in one day...begining at 8 am and ending at 3 pm (i think(.  I am so far hating this medifast.  Why is my state the only state that makes you do this?!!!  Do any of you all have to do medifast for this long?  GRRRRRR..... My girlfriend had the bypass today and i called and she just got out about 1/2 hour ago.  3 hour surgery, yikes! I'm so happy for her, i was crying.  She is gonna be so thrilled with her new healthy body!  How is everyone doing?

glad you passed the psych. How exciting to be getting it all done. No, I don't have to do medifast. In fact, I have never heard of medifast. I do have to do a liquid diet for 2 weeks and that is to shrink the liver so the surgeon can have a better view of the stomach. I am so excited for you. Not much longer until your big day.

Hi Kim,

Congrats on your visit this past Monday and good luck on your testing.  Wedon't have to do Medifast in CA but I have been on it twice so I can sympathize.  I do have to do a liquid diet 1 week before the surgery to shrink the liver.  I need to get more motivated to loose the 10 I need to, and it's so hard during the holidays but I am determined to, so there we go.

My neighbor had to do the medi-fast diet for 2 weeks b4 her surgery.
( She had it done out of state...so maybe that's why?  )

What is medifast???  My surgery is in FL so we don't have to do that there.  In fact, my surgeon only requires a 2 day liquid diet.   He does and teaches a procedure where instead of six little insicions, you have one 2" incison right at the breast bone.  So maybe that is why his requirements are different?

Claims it is easily hidden by a bra.  We shall see!  i am so excited and cannot wait for January to get here!

Hi. So medifast is the same as optifast i believe. It is a protein shake diet, similar to slim fast but higher in protein.  I lost 8 pounds my first week and then nothing the second week because i was a bad girl at thanksgiving and snacked a little on the weekend.  Back on it full force today so i'm doing well.  Let me know how your procedure goes for you.

Hi there! Well I went to weigh in yesterday and have lost a total of 15 pounds so far in 3 weeks.  Now they tell me that i have to be on the medifast only, no more salad and lean protein.  I don't know if i can do it. It's gonna be tough!  ONly 23 more days to go though!  yay!!!!  thanks for all your support. Oh and i'm wearing pants today i haven't worn ever.  My pants are falling off!  :)
