I am havingsuch a hard time with my weightloss.  I don't know what to do.  I think I am going to go on Adkins for a while.  That way my case mnager will know I am at least trying.  I have lost like 3 of the 24 lbs that I need to.  I'm getting frustrated.

My surgeon doesn't require that you lose a certain amount of weight before surgery. They do require that you do NOT gain any weight between your surgery and your consult. I have been trying for about 6 weeks to lose weight and so far, I have not lost a pound, but have gained 3. I am thinking of going back on South Beach Diet or Atkins. I have lost weight with both. Cutting carbs used to work well with me, but not lately.

Hi I am new to this.  My doctor has told me that I would have to go on protein shakes two weeks before surgery and if I do not lose weight I cant have the surgery?  I was to afraid to ask how much.

I have to lose 10% of my current weight which was 281. My insurance requires me to lose 5% and my doctor requires another 5%. I started Medifast this past monday, today is day 3 for me.  I have to go through the holidays on medifast.  This sucks! I'm such an optimist but this is testing me big time!

my surgeon wants 12 pounds gone before surgery.  i lost 7.5 pounds in the first month... and in the past TWO months have not lost another ounce.  grrr.

if anyone's interested, i've had good luck in the past (therefore need to get on it again!) with myfooddiary.com - it's like $10/month but you can plug in how much you need to lose and it sets up your daily calories,  helps track your nutrition and exercise, etc.

in fact, i think i'm gonna head on over to the site now and get on the ball... time's a-tickin!
