I was approved on 12/19 and my surgery is scheduled 1/28/08! I having lap band by Dr. Mueller in San Diego. Looking forward to talk more people as we take this wonderful journey.

I have my pre-op appointment on the 3rd, and am set to pick up the Optifast that day as well. I have to make another trip up for the Dietician appointment and Doctor of INternal medicine appointment on the 15th --thankfully was able to make both for the same day and then the surgery of course is on the 21st ... which also happens to be my little sister's 30th birthday.. so here's hoping that brings me a little luck.. 
(I'm all too happy to share that luck around too)

My surgery was Nov 12. I won't lie the first week after surgery is not a easy but it will pass. I am learning to leave with my new lifestyle and life is fine. I have already lost 35 ibs.. Would I do it again YES!!!!!!!!. The most important thing I can tell you is to get up and walk ALOTE after surgery!! If you do not the gas builds up and REALLY HURTS!!!!
I would be happy to answer any questions on what I know of it. Just let me know what you want to know.

I admit, the liquid stuff tastes like chalk and is downright disgusting! I like the CIB better if it sits in the fridge for a long time, so I might make up tomorrow's batch tonight.
I've had a few little nibbles, but otherwise am doing great. Good luck to you, too!
