Topic: RE: Surgery in Mexcio?
I've read about a few people who have surgery in Mexico, but for the life of me, I can't remember who. Try posting on the main board; they will probably remember! Good luck!

Hi! The time is going to go so fast before our surgeries! (Mine's on the 9th). Like you, I have those second thought negative feelings, but the surgery and recovery will come and go and we'll be left with healthier bodies. I'm sure that most of us won't have a single regret!

I'm a week or two before you - we're all going to be going through the same thing this month! I get some reassurance from people who have BTDT by going to the main board or previous months' boards to read posts there! I hope we all stick around and offer lots of cyber support to one another in the months to come! Best of luck!

Okay, ignore me. This was posted on the wrong board. I get confused and there doesn't seem to be a way to delete...

Okay, so, I'm 6 months out. (YAY!) Lost 42lbs so far, good stuff. I have learned what I can eat and what I can't...etc. But I have this problem that I have no idea if it's normal or not. Okay, 1 week before my period I want to eat constantly (which, yeah, I'm a girl - it happens) then the entire week of...I'm very indifferent to food. I just find myself staring at it. Usually, since being banded I average around 800-1000 calories a day. But on the week of...I'm getting in maybe 600, IF I'm lucky. Why is this? Am I odd?

Topic: RE: To tell or not to tell?!!
Hi Anneke, My mother is having a very hard time accepting me having this surgery. When I first told her she got very upset with me and told me I was taking the easy way out. This is in NO WAY the wasy way out. I understand now it is just her way of expressing how worried she is about the surgery. I have had a weight problem all my life and I am 43 now and have had enough. I feel it is time to make change, Im not getting any younger. I am also hypothyroid which makes it very hard if not impossible to loose weight, so it is time to do this. As the time gets closer for your surgery (mine is in 3 weeks) you will worry more and 2nd guess yourself if it is right....all I can tell you is the decision is yours and no one elses. If youre a praying person, pray about it...the answer will come. And if you need motivation...read what others have put in here and look at their before and after pictures...thats what I am doing. I am doing this, my husband is behind me 100%. My mother will have to accept this, it is my decision, she will just have to understand. Good luck to you, whatever you decide..God bless, Cindy

Hi Anna, Thank you so much for writing me. Congratulations on your decision to do this. It has taken me some time but I decided it will be the best thing for me. I have heard from a few people that moving around after surgery is the best thing to do to help in the healing process, so believe me I plan in moving! I started my supplements and my protiens, I really want to do this right. How have you done so far? What was your starting weight? what is your diest now? Im sorry about all the questions...I just want to know everything so I can convince my family that everything will be ok...I believe it will be but they are just worried and I want to reassure them. I would also love for you to be my Angel...although I have to admit, Im not really sure what that is...so you will have to fill me in. Well keep intouch and again Thank you for your response...Cindy

Topic: RE: not losing?
Wow - 78 lbs is awesome, and from what I hear, it's normal to plateau at certain points. I've read that if you plateau, you should ensure that you are getting enough protein and drinking enough water. That being said, I haven't even had surgery yet. Have you tried posting this question on the main board or the VSG board? To get there, just hover your mouse over "forums" at the top of this page - the main board is first and the VSG board is a few spots below it. Good luck!

I have my vertical sleeve gastrectomy on7/5/07. I have now lost 78 pounds but I have not lost any weight in the last 4 weeks. Is this normal?
