That's a great idea, thanks for sharing it! Number 1 and 2 scare me, too. Best of luck!

Topic: RE: To tell or not to tell?!!
I chose to tell my husband and my best friend and that is all. If I tell my mom she will get all worried and turn into a drama queen and tell the whole family and it will just end up being about her and I'll end up taking care of her. I do feel a little guilty about not telling the people that I have worked with for years and who have been wonderful loving friends but I am already on an emotional roller coaster about this and I want to spend my energy taking care of myself right now. It just feels a little like lying by not telling them. I don't want to have to explain or justify or hear people who mean well try and tell me to just try "exercise" or "eating breakfast" or whatever. I can't think of a diet that I have NOT tried. Good Luck. Everyone has to make their own decision about who to tell and when.

My husband said the same thing earlier this week. He walked by and said " i am worried about this surgery" now he will not give me a chance to find out what is worring him so we can talk about it. Well we have to drive to Tucson this week so I will try and get him to talk.

One my all-time favorties is people telling me I just need to eat breakfast. Yea, like I got this butt from not eating breakfast!!!

Hi- I went through something similar- my husband was acutally very supportive, but he was scared for me- I had lap band surgery 9-4-07. Get him information from your surgeon for him to read...take him to a support meeting with you... the more information he has about the surgery, the less concerned he should feel about complications. Good luck, you will be healthier in the end!- Laura.

i hit the wrong button and just happen to see your post. my husband did the same thing to me. i tried for the 6 years we were together to get surgery and when i finally got the go ahead he was not happy. it seemed at the time like he was just trying to cause me stressand be a jerk, but now that we look back and talk about it, it was just that he was afraid of something going wrong and him losing me. im sure that is what is worrying your husband too. i told my husband that i really dont think i would have been here a year later if i had not have had surgery when i did. good luck and i hope everything works out for the best.

My surgery is 1/16 and today my husband mentioned in passing that he wishes I would reconsider the surgery. I had a feeling he felt that way, but he never really said it out loud before. I have been working hard for almost a year, he couldn't talk with me before? Anyone else out there losing their support at the last minute? (By the way, I am not reconsidering and told him I understand he is nervous, but I will be healthier in the end)

Topic: Releasing all negative thoughts into space!!
I am going into surgery monday, so a good friend(who has had this surgery) told me to post all of my fears and never mention or think about them again. This way I will go in with a clear head so here we go: Fear #1 and #2 I am going to die soon as they put me on the table. And my children will be motherless Fear #3 Some way or another he is going to start my surgery then cancel it. Fear#4 I will have a reaction to the anesthesia Fear# 5 I will get a leak, a clot, or worse Fear #6 I will get sick or have a really hard recovery Fear #7 Drug lords will burst in the OR and take it over like that episode of Nip Tuck! Fear #8 I am going to look really funny skinny. Fear #9 I am going to have a lot of saggy skin Fear #10 I am going to look my age once I lose all of the weight!( I have the round chubby baby face and I can still pass for 24!) Fear #11 Everyone who finds out I had this surgery will judge me And finally.... Fear #12 I am going to lose a lot of friends because someone says something negative about me having this surgery. Well that is it, I got it all out in the open and I really feel good about it. Because half of the list is just me freaking out over the unknown and things I cant control. This was a great idea!
