Topic: RE: Requesting an angel...
But along with an angel who can give good advice if you want friends (newbies) that can share experiences as you experience similar situations (possibly) then you are on the right thread. I post alot on another site and I find that sometimes the newbies can share alot of empathy with each other! Good luck.

Hi Toni,
Thanks for the advice. I'm obviously just a newbie trying to find my way around the site.

Topic: Surgery in a few days!
I'm having my surgery on January 9th and am looking forward to it!
Wish me luck!
Topic: RE: Made it thru my surgery on 1-2... Got a lot of discomfort going on.
Hi Lakisha! Congrats! I also had my surgery on Jan 2nd but I didn't get realized until Friday. I also am pretty uncomfortable and it mostly comes from drinking water too fast. But while in the hospital the gas pains were from the all the IVs that I had and the surgery itself. Remember, it is major surgery and it takes some time to heal. So relax and take some time for yourself!!

Topic: RE: STRESSED -SOMEONE PLEASE HELP !!!
the pre-op nurse told me that if i hadn't lost enough by my pre-op appt (appt 1/8; surgery 1/15), then i could just drink crystal light and pee it out.
it's not the healthiest thing in the world, but it would work.
at the same time, i will tell you that i've lost 20 pounds on the liquid protein diet...and i've only been on it for 10 days. my bmi is high, which is probably why it's been so easy, but it has worked.

hi kym, congrats on moving through the hoops! you're lucky to have insurance coverage.
in looking for an angel, you might go to one of the boards with folks who have already have surgery. they'll be more likely to be able to answer your questions.
this board is for those of us who are having surgery this month...so we're all newbies!
