I think this is a pretty standard request. I just barely signed a release like this with my dentist yesterday. I think it really comes down to you would have to fight the insurance company....and since you have a letter, I wouldn't worry about it at all. Good luck with your surgery!

I know the feeling. I felt nausus in the begining but am doing fine now. Will you leave the hospitol the same day. I stay one day with the lap rny. So that's not too bad.

I am having lap-band, wi**** was over too, I think I could float, between the protien drink, and the h2o I spend most my time in the bath room, and today I have had some real serious nausa, maybe just nerves!!!!!!!

Glad to hear you are home and doing well. Good thing you didn't weigh. I wish someone had told me not to... I gained 4.7 lbs in the hospital... go figure.

I don't know about you, but I HATE protein drinks! I think the smell bothers me more than anything. The only thing I can tolerate are the Slim Fast High Protein milk chocolate shakes. Hope this helps. : )

I got home late last night but the point is I am home. I am almost done with my shake, then it's 10 minutes of walking then nap time after that. My doc came around as the were doing a weigh on me and he said don't even weigh for about 30 days. Just feel and watch the weight come off. I had a few moments when I was ready to give up. Like when the 4th person couldn't find a place to put in my IV line and we had to discuss a central line (Big fear of mine). Finally the 6th person (my surgeon) was able to get one in after I was out. Pain was tolerable once I got off the morphine. I never hit the pump enough to get enough of the drug in my system. That's about it. Later all. Oh yeah, I will post a pic that the DH took the day after of me crashed in the chair. What a sweetheart?

It is funny how each surgeon is different about what to do before surgery. Mine said a two week diet of protien shakes for breakfast and lunch with a piece of meat and a vegtable for dinner. and two days before surgery clear liquid diet. So I am already loosing not sure how much but I can see it. My surgery is on the 24 in Atlanta. Good luck ladies and hope to hear from you on the other side. Don't worry be happy.

I am having my surgery on the 24 in Atlanta. I guess we can compare our achs and pains if you like and our achievements an slips too. I am excited how about you. No second thoughts yet. Just wi**** was all over and I was back at home. I am having the lap RNY, how about you?
