Topic: RE: Stall
Denise,
I think 16 lbs. is great...you only had surgery a few weeks ago. After I was about 2 1/2 or 3 weeks I stalled at 30 lbs. but in a few days I picked back up...I made sure to make time for walking, water and protein. I hope your loss picks back up soon as I know how frustrating it is to look at the scale and it's still at the same number!

I have lost 16 pounds since surgery. My worry is that I have not lost a pound in about 1 week. Is anyone else in my boat or am I all alone?
Topic: RE: Cold?
Hey there -- I had been told this was a normal thing after surgery. You loose your insulation and your body stays cold. Just add an extra sweater -- this may stay this way.
Topic: RE: Lapband help
Hi Nancy, I had the lapband done 1/17/08 and feel great. I lost 10 pounds prior to surgery and 15 since so am 25 down and feel great. I am eating real food and found some great cookbooks that really helped. I am eating eggs, tuna, hot cereal, potatoes with no problems. I was worried because I love to eat and love to taste flavor and you just need to be cretive to do that the first month. I looked forward to fat free refried beans with a little melted mozzarella and green chili sauce I got from Williams and Sonama. So far it has been a breeze. I hope the same for you. Mari
Topic: Cold?
Anyone else freezing since surgery? I haven't been warm since I left the hospital and everyone was hot there. I know it's cold here in CT but I also know that I was NEVER this cold before.
Topic: RE: questions about burping
I am also burping a lot. I noticed when I drink out of a glass the burping is worse than when I drink out of a bottle. Don't know what the difference is but it works for me. If I drink too much or too fast I also get big gas pain not releived untill I burp.
Good luck
Topic: RE: Still in pain
Hi I am three weeks out and only had a twinge around my belly botton from time to time. Did you have a lap or did they open you up. When I had my hystorectmy they open me up and I had terrible pain every time I got up and down for over a month. So I guess we all recover differently. Goodd Luck Bernadette

I am going on my third week and thank god for cottage cheese, yougart, and applesause. I have not been able to stand anything sweet tasting at all so all the protien drinks make me feel sick. I cooked some chicken put it in a crock pot for 24 hours, it made great broth and the meat is so tender, it melts in your mouth. I had some chicken twice today and feel great. I just really missed chewing so this gave me something I could chew and injoy, and I am getting some protien too.
Good luck Bernadette
Topic: RE: Scolded By My Doctor....
I am 2 weeks and one day out, and I am also having trouble eating and getting enough protein and fluids, but I did order the protein bullets that are 42 grams of protein in about 3 oz. It tastes a lot like liquid jello. It is better than nothing and I don't have to put up with a foamy protein shake if I can't handle it that day. I also buy the EAS Advantage shakes at Walmart, pre-mixed, and keep them in the fridge. they have 17 grams of protein each and 11 oz of fluid. Good luck!

I'm getting through the protein and one thing that I discovered is the Starbuck's SUGAR FREE Mocha syrup and SF cinnamon dolce syrup. You only need 1/4 of a teaspoon in the protein drink, especially the Mocha it has this liquor smell to it. 0 sugar, 0 fat wonderful stuff. I'm only a week and a half out of surgery and I'm having trouble eating food. I am also on the soft pureed food but I am not allowed the stuff that you are yet, until my next phase. I tried eggbeaters yesterday and egg whites today. I have a little less than an ounce and I am totally done with it. It's bland and unpalatable. I am allowed yogurt so I am eating some strawberry yogurt without the chunks. I do have that Fage yogurt which I haven't tried, alittle scared, but I heard it was good with that SF cinnamon dolce syrup. I couldn't find the syrups in a store I actually had to go to Starbucks and they sold it to me. They give you more than enough that will probably last over a year especially if you only use a 1/4 tsp at a time. I gave half of mine to a friend just to be sure I don't have this stuff around for a decade. I think they were about 8 dollars each, not bad. Good luck
