We didn't have to go. My son evacuated to my Mom's further inland and we watched the storm turn to Houston. On Wednesday, we expected it here. Schools more than 60 miles inland closed on Thurs and Fri. I had to get checked at the docs on Wed. instead of Friday because they were closing. It was something to see all that wood getting slapped over windows. We got our wood up and watched the storm. The predictions changed Wednesday night and we waited to see.
The doc was not there and the techs said the stitches weren't ready to come out. Since we weren't sure what the weekend would bring and if we would be able to be back on Monday, they gave me a disposable suture cutting kit in case I couldn't get back before the stitches healed over and hurt really badly to remove. So on Saturday night my hubby played doctor and removed my stitches for me. I couldn't feel the first stitch at all and the second tugged just a bit as it was starting to heal over. I am glad I didn't have to wait or I would have been miserable by Monday afternoon when I did get in to see the doc.
I started physical therapy yesterday and it hurt. I am still hurting from it. It is amazing that I can't get my muscles to do what they are supposed to. It got easier to make them work as the first therapy session progressed but by that night, ouch. I went back to my pain pills and still had to take a couple today.
Physical therapy isn't fun and isn't easy. I thought it would be so easy since I was use to exercise. It has been a big surprise. Sorry to whine but I was really surprised. I should just count all my blessings and hush!
As I watch the news, I feel so sorry for all the Houstonian and people from Galveston. That was the worst place the storm could have hit.
Thanks for checking on me!

Totally don't worry- I've been eating sandwiches for about a year and can eat a whole one without problems. I'm sure you're fine!!! :)

Do you think our stomach eventually goes back to a normal thin persons stomach size?
Ok guys, tell me. I ate about 3/4 of a sandwhich the other day. First time since surgery. Can you eat that much? I'm worried that my stomach is stretched out.
Of course this starts on a Friday afternoon- guess I'll be drinking nonstop cranberry juice all weekend. Maybe I can add a little vodka? :)
