Ok Im posting this cause there was to many of you to reply too!!! LOL
NOOOOOOOOO carbonation can NOT stretch you pouch out!!! Carbonation can irritate your tummy... but my doctor who is a pro at this (he's ALSO had RNY) says its a MYTH! Some people can tolerate it some can't. I personally can NOT tolerate dark pop, I can drink sprite or Sunkist (diet of course)
Another reason they say to stay away from carbonation is it can fill your tummy up and then you won't eat enough nutrition.
#2... if your urinating ALOT and your urine is any other color than YELLOW... and it stinks, burns or is thick.... You PROBABLY have a UTI and it should be treated ASAP... It can goto your kidneys and you can get kidney infection. I KNOW all to well from personal experience.
I work in the Emergency Room at our hospital and we see UTI's on the weekends all the time!
#3.... I think it takes ALOT to stretch your pouch out and ALOT of abuse, I think all of us that are on these boards regularly don't have much to worry about, were ALL on track and VERY self conscious about our ways.
I someday's feel like I eat ALL DAY LONG.... Other days I have to remind myself to eat when I start to feel like my blood sugar is low.
So moral of this story is... Stay on these boards for the support and friendships! Stay focused on taking your vitamins , drinking plenty of fluids and eating protein first! Give yourself a WT. window for you won't get discouraged.
Most of all ..... STAY POSITIVE!!!

And I did dump the soda...but, I would be completely hammered off of a drink...I can barely handle a glass of wine! I am such a lightweight drinker now. It's pathetic...I used to be able to easily pack away two bottles of wine by myself.

Definately check with your doc but that is a sign of dehydration and also a sign of low potassium levels.
