That's so crappy!!!
My in-law side of the family tell me all the time you look so much better since you've gained weight.  You used to be too skinny...
Well- ANY kind of "gaining" comment freaks me out.
It amazes me how 5-10 pounds actually shows on me now and before I could lose and gain 20 and no one would ever notice.

Topic: RE: Can you throw up?
I'm dying to know about this too.  I have thrown up 2 times since surgery and both times were because I ate WAY too much, too fast and poor choices.  There have been atleast 10 times that I have eaten something that disagreed with me and felt like I was going to throw-up and so tried to help myself along and just could not do it at all.
I'm gonna ask my Dr about the Vegas nerve thing if I get a chance...

I checked into the vagus nerve response on Wiki, and there is a section that talks about lesions on the nerve causing lack of gag reflex (last section in the article). Perhaps this is the same phenomenon happening with regard to surgery. Do you know if your surgeon cuts your vagus nerve, or leaves it in tact?

Well, the doctor suggested a lower body lift with an anchor cut, though the incision wouldn't meet in the back. Also, a breast lift with small implants (my choice for them to be small). He said the lift would end up with the best results and would likely knock two sizes off...that's just crazy because I'm a 4 now, so that would make me a 0?? Anyway, the grand total would be $11,250. Plus $150 a day for an after care hotel depending on when I feel up to coming home to CA. Here, for an average modest tt and bl/ba it was $17,000. Now I just have to 1. Come up with the entire amount. 2. Try to plan around nursing school if/when I am accepted (still waiting to hear).

The conference was a blast...there are so many people to meet and new products to try, most of the speakers are informative or interesting. Definitely go to one if you get the chance.

Hmmmm...  I am very curious about this.  I cannot even make myself throw up.  Although I can burp on command, but I actually had to learn how to do it! lol!  Air gets trapped really easily in my pouch if I eat too quickly, and it is amazing how a good burp will cause instant relief!

Thanks for responding...  I have tried to research this online and have found nothing about it.

So, we went to the OH LA Event...it was fun. That's all I can really say. So much happened and was packed in from Friday to Sunday...it would take forever to type it all out.
But, some of the highlights were:

Long, tedious drive to LA
Seeing a car accident, complete with a dead guy, upon arriving in LA
Costume Party
Getting turned away at the Edison
Going to a punk club
Eating good food
Seeing interesting presentations
Seeing awful presentations
Drinking too much and yet not enough
Late night Denny's run
Plastics consult w/ Dr. Quiroz of CosMed Mexico
Missing Melting Mama and Eggface's presentation :o( becasue of consult
Saying good bye to newly made friends
Long, tedious drive home

Here's a link to a slide show of the pics that I did manage to take. I kept forgetting that I had my camera, so I missed out on capturing so much!

Enjoy!

Hey, Belle...I think I can, if you mean throwing up spontaneously. But, to be honest, since surgery I've only had to a couple of times and I had to make it happen, if you know what I mean?
However, I don't seem to be able to burp or to cough with any force at all. It's quite strange some of the things that change.

Odd question, probably, but I am curious.  I don't appear to be able to vomit since my surgery.
