Well today is my 14 month surgiversary. To my delight when I stepped on the scale this morning I discovered I have reached my surgeon's GOAL WEIGHT!!!!! Yea!!!! I have now lost 92% of my excess weight from initial bariatric program weigh in and 90% since day of surgery. I have lost 129"! Only fifteen pounds to go to my personal goal weight of 145 pounds, which is the very upper limit of my "normal" BMI range. I can't believe it! 15 pounds to go! Woohoo! Terrisa

Topic: books- therapists...
For those of us that are backsliding.. is there anything that anyone can recommened? Where there any special books that you felt helped you at all? How do you find a therapist that specializes in eating issues? I am okay for now- barely- but my old habits are back and I really can see myself gaining all the weight back- maybe not today or tomorrow- but somewhere down the road. Some weeks are harder than others and I guess that will just be the name of the game- but I'm scared. Thanks- Holly

Marta- Mine was a piece of cake- I was pregnant with quads at the time- they waited til after the first trimester. You will feel soooo much better- the pain associated with that was just terrible. I wish you the best... Holly

Dang, Belle...you're already feeling up to trying on clothes?! Wow you recover quickly! By the time your swelling is gone you'll probably be in an 8!

Thank you, Marilyn... I didn't lay down because it was so uncomfortable that all I could do was sit upright and rock back and forth for an hour! But, I had nausea and vomiting that came out of nowhere...that really shocked me because I knew that it couldn't have been the piece of cheese that I ate, I was too careful eating it to have overeaten or not chewed well enough. Besides, I seem to have a pouch of steel now, so to feel nauseated and to actually vomit was way out of character for me...that in addition to the sudden pain was scary. I think that I will make an appointment soon...but I know myself...so I'll probably end up waiting for it to happen again like an idiot .
