Topic: RE: I am addicted to buying clothes!!
I am addicted to shopping but not just for me but everyone else. I guess that is the excuss I use "I bought you something last week" I am going get ahold of my spending. The other this is I am always returning items because I buy too big. I always go straight to the plus size. I just realized that I can not wear an 18 that a 14 will fit. So I play the head game and say to my self DO NOT BUY 18'S OR 16'S I AM A 14. BUT I do like my clothes loose to hid the extra skin. I hope to have remove in 2009. Remember moderation in all you do. Topic: RE: Monday Morning Weigh
Suzanne, I am in the same boat. I have been the same weight for 2 months. Weighing between 180-185. So I read something about the 5 day pouch test. Yes it worked. Got me off carbs. I was n't loosing. Now on my 5th day- I am down 178. Yea it is moving. I also started going to a support grp which helped me to get focused again. I have problems with cookies and candy being around the house and work. Husband said to stop bringing those items home. We everyone in the house likes that stuff and are very skinny. So we will see what happens. I have had no carbs this week and have dropped 2 pounds. So I am an advocate of the 5 day pouch test. It was a chanllenge but worth it. STAY AWAY FROM CARBS. REMEMBER PROTEIN FIRST. PROTEIN.

I do have some advice as far as traveling in airplanes with the security. Do not even try to take any protein drinks with you carry on. You would have to check as far as check in baggage. Not sure about that one but I know they will take it away if it is even water doesn't matter if it is un-opened they will take it away. If it is the powdered kind you add water too they take it away. If it is slim fast they take it away. I had a fairly new post op friend fly recently and she was postal over all that stuff being taken away as much as it all costs. Hope this helps. Anna

I have pineapple in my protein shake first thing in the morning and then usually blueberries or strawberries in my yogurt mid-morning. Occasionally (I get on kicks) I'll have apple or banana with peanut butter as afternoon snack. I also eat either a salad or raw veggies once or twice each day (most days).

Hi Holly - I get in veggies everyday, whether it be salad or actual vegetables with a meal. I hardly eat fruit, maybe 2 - 3 times a week. I usually eat strawberries, blueberries, canteloupe if anything - sometimes watermelon. i get nervous about the sugar content in fruit and really don't eat it esp. if I'm not home. Marta

I never even travel *in* the US! I am so lame. But, I have to say that your upcoming trip sounds amazing. Just try to stick to veggies, meats and seafoods and you should be fine. I would think that shouldn't be a problem in Hong Kong. If you are staying at a hotel, chances are that you will have more American choices offered there than out at restaurants. Definitely pack lots of protein bars...it can't hurt...and at least you'll know that you have something healthy to munch on when you're on the go. Have a great time, Marta....I'm so jealous ;o). ~Suz

While I don't get in the volume that I used to...I do get in a lot of variety. On average, I eat at least three fruits per day, and at least as many veggies...many days more than that. I have always loved vegetables and would sometimes eat a huge bowl full with a cheese sauce for dinner...pre-op of course. ~Suz

How many fruits and veggies do you get in on average? I think I may be getting in enough fruit- but no way am I hitting the mark on veggies. How is evryone else doing? Holly
