Suz - I've heard about the wild and forest fires. I bet the smoke is horrible. Is it still bad now?? Are more people staying in their homes to avoid the smoke, or is it getting in the houses as well? I'm sure the smell is horrible. ;(

Hey Lori, I've been thinking about you. Sorry to hear about the hernia. You poor thing, you sure have been put through a lot this past year. No ones thinks that you are whiney, you have had some serious medical conditions, who wouldn't be a little frustrated and sad? You have always held your chin up high, that's what amazes me.You've been uplifting and remained positive during this process.
Your BMI is on the low normal size, but seriously, try not to let that get to you. As long as you are happy with your weight and feel healthy, that's all that counts . I bet you look great, I think it's time to update your phonto book ki"time to update your profile I think!!

Lori, good to see you!!! I agree with Holly you are not a hypochondriac. You know your body best and I wouldn't let it go either. Specially if you are seeing the same things you saw or felt last time. Take care!!

Hi, Karen...sounds like you have a lot on your plate. That can throw even the most diligent post-op off their game and it sounds like you are feeling that way. You have already stated the problem and you know that without some action in the right direction, the problem will grow larger. But, we are here to support you and to give you honest advice and positive reinforcement.
First off, I would suggest getting the excess simple carbs out of you diet and your house (like the pb cups ;o) if they are a trigger food for you) if they have crept back in. That always seems to be a downfall for most of us. Next, keep the dense protein up! I tend to go through phases of avoiding it, but the dense protein really does keep me satiated and keeps the carb monster at bay. Finally, stay hydrated and keep up on the supplements...but it sounds like you are doing fine with the liquids, so you're already a step ahead. A lot of your success will probably come from eating more like you did in the early days since you aren't really able to exercise, but certainly don't cut the calories below 1,200. Try the South Beach cookbooks or website for meal ideas as they are very much in line with how we should eat. I use their cookbooks, website, and products on a very regular basis...I haven't been disappointed yet!
As a last bit of advice...keep in touch with our board and keep posting!! We need to stick together and support one another whenever possible.

Good Tuesday Afternoon My January Lovelies! A day late and a dollar short, as they say. This summer class is really overloading my brain...I totally forgot to post yesterday. Plus, we are having the worst problem with heavy smoke throughout the state because of wild and forest fires. I just can't think with all of this crap in the air. It is really bad today, the sky is completely gray and thick with smoke. I need to go out and do a rain dance...a summer storm might clear the air a little (but, no such luck).
Surgery/high: 251.5
Last Monday: 143.4
Today: 144.4
Loss/gain: +1.0
TOM is visiting again, exactly on time, bringing Bloat with him :o(. blech.
It sounds as though everyone is doing quite well...lots of losses and holding steady this week = success! Make it a great week everyone!
