Stacey - I'm so very sorry to hear about another hernia. I hear those hurt like heck. Do they say why you keep getting them? I hope you're feeling better hon. ***HUGS**

Seriously- glad you on the mend and that they were able to do it lap. So did you just know what it was because the symptons were the same as last time?

HEY Everyone... well guess what?
I just had ANOTHER hernia surgery. I had one in Jan. of this year too!
Thursday started with alot of pain.. got to be unbearable! Went to ER.. they did surgery on me around 6pm. Found 2 hernias wrapped around my small bowel.. they did it laparoscropy...
Now Im home recovering once again!
My weight when i left the hospital was 153lbs.. YUCKY!! Lots of fluids... I weighed about 143lbs before... Hope it comes off fast!

It is a scary sight to behold. And, I am sure that I will find (and already have 
) an infinite number of things that need slicing and dicing. But, I will be satisfied with the belly and the boobs. I would love to have the inner thighs done and varicose vein treatment, but that isn't as important to me at this point...nothing pants can't cover up. But you do look wonderful, so I don't blame you for wanting more of the same.

I will be 37 on the 30th of this month, so by the time I am out of nursing school, 39-40 depending on when I get in and which school chooses me. I have three kids: son, Forrest, 16 years on the 29th of this month; daughter, MacKenzie, 12 years; daughter, Piper, 6 years.
As for the nurses, I completely agree. Actually, it is those kinds of positive experiences with nurses that showed me that nursing is the career for me. I'm not necessarily "Suzie Sunshine" all of the time, but I do know how to have compassion for those in pain or in need. I think that some nurses are book smart, but common sense and people stupid. With any luck and skill, I hope won't be that way. I'd really like to get into the bariatric field, perhaps as a surgical nurse or on the surgical floor for after care. We'll see....I still have a long road ahead.

Well from what I can tell Suz you are going to make a terrific nurse. You are kind and upbeat. You have so much going on and I'm sure are extremely busy, yet you take time for us and encourage us. You have all of the qualities a nurse should have.
I've been in the hospital for myself and my Mother several times. It's the nurses not the doctors that determine how your stay is going to be. A *****y nurse can ruin your day, but a loving, caring one makes it. I remember when my Mom was in the nursing home, many of the nurses would come in, say hi to my Mom, hug her, see how's she doing while they are checking her vitals or whatever. Then there were the ones that could care less, probably know nothing about you, they just do their job with an attitude. And God forbid you ring the little thing that they give you to call them, they even come in the room with an attitude.
And OMG you're almost 40? I would have never have guessed that. Lookign good girl! How many kids do you have?
