Monday Morning Weigh-ins
Good Morning All,
I know most of you will not know or remember me as I had stopped visiting the forum long ago. That was one of the biggest mistakes of my journey. A slow, slow weightloss after surgery was the 1st reason. It was soooo hard for me to see how well everyone was doing (happy though....don't take that the wrong way). A little history.....my top weight was 342 and that was a few years before my decision to have WLS. My surgery weight was 314 on Jan 31, 2007. My lowest was 229. It was great going from a size 26/28 down to a 16 jean (tight as they were, I was in them). I have a bad back and can't exercise regularly if at all. My teeth are also bad making my food choices to be limited. I get my protein from mostly All The Whey powder mixed in my decaf coffee. I have a difficult time chewing so good cuts of meat are usually out of the question. Eggs, cheese, yogurt and softer (slider) foods have been what I consume. So many things that I shouldn't be doing is all I can do and make it work as best I could. The last 6 months or so.....my choices have been bad ones and of course the scale showed it by creeping ever so slowly back up to 255. My jeans are now a size 18 and I kick around the house in my old size 20s. They are baggy and really are too big, but they work for gardening on hands and knees and cleaning house. I'm now ready again to confront my ways and kick it back into gear. I promised both my doctors that I was not done with my loss and now I make the same promise to all of you. One thing I've never been able to do is NOT weigh myself constantly. After I weighed in this morning, the scale was kicked under the bed out of sight. I WILL NOT weigh myself anything but on Monday mornings from this day forward. My promise from last week (to myself of course) was no more night snacking. This has been my biggest enemy. I will make one promise or step each Monday and it will be posted here for all the world to see.
I checked back to my weigh-ins from the past and found I was exactly 247 (was I weigh today) .....are you ready for this.....November 2007.
This is my first official weigh-in ever and will not be my last!
What I would really like to see is how everyone is doing since their surgery.
Thanks everyone for letting me open up to myself and everyone.

Good morning, Darlene!
I came to post this thread, and low and behold, here you are! Just as you said you would be! That is a fantastic step in the right direction.
I was late posting today due to chores that seem to never end...I just can't reach the bottom of that list. lol.
So, on with the numbers for the week:
Surgery/high: 251.5
Last Monday: 139.6
Today: 140.4
I'm barely up and honestly feel my best at about 140...so, all is well.
I had a great surprise this morning. A woman I met on here and was an angel for about a year ago, called to see if I could meet her for coffee tomorrow morning. We live about 5 miles from one another and have attempted to get together several times over the last year. But, things always seem to fall apart at the last minute. Anyway, I haven't seen Gina since the early days after her surgery. I am so excited to see her and find out how she's been doing.
It promises to be a great week for me...so all you ladies out there make it a great week for yourselves, as well! Get in here and post!!!!

Suzie,
To be absolutely honest, I was waiting for you to post as I've seen you seem to be the only one wo get it started. I'm tired of waiting....waiting for anything, something......no more. I must, I will see this to the best end possible for me. I would like to at least make it to the goal the surgeon set for me which was 198. 150 is my personal goal.
Have a great week. I know I will :-)

Way to take charge of your destiny, Darlene. We all have to find our own personal "bottom"...and it looks like you've found yours! I agree....don't wait for anything!!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone - good to see a new face - Darlene! I am glad you shared with us and are determined to begin again. We have all been at that place in one way or another.
One suggestion on the jeans - throw away the size 20's. I know some days my jeans are snugger than I would like, but I wear them anyway. It helps remind me through out the day to watch what I put in my mouth.
Hey Suz - hope you had a good visit with your friend Gina.
Have a great week all!
Current weight - 167

I totally agree with throwing away the pants! I remember wearing things that didn't fit properly, both when losing and when gaining...and it always seemed to give me leeway and "permission" to fit into them again. If they are gone, you can't back-slide without buying a larger size.
And, I did have a great visit with Gina...she looks fantastic! I'm so happy for my little Angelette!

Hello Everyone,
I'm late arriving, but it's so good to be here. To Darlene, I really know how you feel not reaching goal, and I have my so called friends standing in the wings waiting ofr me to regain my weight. They provide no incouragement and no motivation to me or for me.
I watched "The Biggest Loser" last night and that was the most emotionial and inspirational segment I have every seen. I could honestly feel Shay's pain and frustrations; its like although I'm not as heavy as she I understood what she was saying.
Hopefully there will be a better tomorrow and a better week for me.
Genie
