Monday Morning Weigh-Ins
Good Monday Morning My January Lovelies!
It's another hot day in Cali...I'm just about sick of summer.
I did, however, have a great weekend. I went to my 20th high school reunion on Friday and it was a blast! I drank a bit too much wine, but it was worth it!
Then, we worked on the girls' room a bit more, and got a fair amount done. Looks like we're nearing the completion of the project. *whew*!
So, on with the numbers:
Surgery/high: 251.5
Last Monday: 141.0
Today: 139.6
Get your butts in here in let us know how *you* are doing! Good or bad...it always helps to be accountable!!
In the meantime...make it a fantastic week!

I haven't posted on this board in quite sometime, I am so embarrased and depressed because I have never reached goal and now I'm starting to gain. I can now feel a differnce in my clothes. I have really been struggling. Hopefully things will get better for me.

Although I am one of the fortunate ones to have made it to goal, I can sympathize with the difficulty it takes to get and stay there. The hard work, I'm afraid, never truly ends.
It seems to get more difficult to stay the course as the months and years tick by...but with eachother's support, we can all do this, together!
I hope you will make an effort to check in at least once a week for accountability and support...I am always ready and willing to offer any help I can. So please, try not to feel embarrassed or depressed...instead turn those feelings into determination!!
I am looking forward to seeing you around more, Dreamgirl!

Hello EGSuzie & all,
I haven't been here in well over a year and never reported Monday weights. I as well never even came close to goal. Now I find myself gaining as well and battling every inch of the weigh :-). I'm 56 and disabled with my back and my doctor told me I probably wouldn't reach goal because of it; however, I didn't even hit his goal for me which was 198. My highest weight was 342 and at surgery 314. My lowest was 229 and am now at 248 (was actually at 252 but I've been working hard. I now find myself back on blood pressure meds because of this gain. That alone is giving me a push. Accountability has never been a priority to me because I was losing soooooo much slower than everyone else I was embarrassed to even talk to anyone. That needs to change for me.
Thank you for letting me vent :-)

Hi Darlene! It's so nice to start seeing faces from long ago popping in lately.
You know, the need for BP meds was one of my original reasons for needing/wanting surgery. I knew that every pound I shed, I was that much closer to not needing medication. The same holds true for you. Every pound you are able to get off and keep off(that's the most difficult part, I know!) moves you that much closer to ridding yourself of those pesky pills.
I won't kid you...it has been and will be a tough row to hoe. But, the benefits of living a healthier life are priceless and beyond compare. You can do this, Darlene!!! No one said you have to be perfect or have a "perfect" outcome...any improvement in your health and well-being is an improvement none-the-less! Take pride in every accomplishment...no matter how small it may seem.
My suggestion would be to first examine--with extreme honesty--your eating habits and choices. Make very sure that your meals are protein heavy and protein forward. This was the first step in us losing weight in the early days...and the same principle holds true today. Protein and good fats fill us up, keep us satiated. Good carbs have to come in a distant second, I'm afraid. And bad, white, processed carbs? Well, you already know the answer to that one! lol.
I truly hope you will start coming around on Mondays...there is NEVER any criticism on loss/gain from anyone who happens to stop by. Please try not to feel embarrassed...we can all sympathize in one fashion or another. In any case, I am nearly always here on Mondays...and I check in at least once a day just to see if anyone has stopped by to post another topic. Hope to talk with you soon!

Suz,
Thank you for the kind words and warm welcome. I DO know what is keeping me from going forward, I just need to confront myself head on.
I will be here for Monday weigh-ins from this point forward. I wish I had done it long ago, but no sense in looking back only forward will get me where I'm going.
Thx again.
Dar :-)
