Monday Morning Weigh Ins
So this week my weight was all over the place. On January 13, 2008 I weighed in at 178 at my aerobics class....then on January 22, 10 days later I weighed in at 193 in class...wowsers! Then over the weekend I was going to the bathroom a LOT with out having taken a water pill and guess what...the weight started to slowly go back down and I have loose skin again! I know that sounds weird but when I go thru the water retention issues, all the loose skin on my thighs and abdomen goes away and it does horrible things to my emotional state. My skin is extra tight and nothing fits! So yesterday I took one of the water pills to help things along. My doctor told me to only take them when the swelling is really bad but its always bad! And when I take them, the swelling goes down but as soon as I stop taking them the weight jumps back up in a day or two. So I don't like to take the water pills either but I don't like being extra swollen either.
I have my two year anniversary check up on Thursday and I am so embarrassed to go....my weight is up almost 30 pounds and that sucks. But even with the almost 30 pound regain.....this has been an amazing journey and a blessed one!
And then I go back to my internal medicine doctor the first week in February for a check up and to see how my swelling is doing. Basically she said that I don't have any blockages and no obvious cause for the swelling and maybe I should cut back on my sodium intake. Which I am trying to do...I did not think that I took in a lot of sodium, I don't cook with it but I do eat processed foods like deli meats and cheeses and pre made chicken salad....its easy! lol but I guess easy is not always the best way.
Well anyway, here are my stats for this week.

I noticed that my last posting here was on 1/5 and my weight was 184.6 so I up again...I am still not giving up though.
I do know that when my weight is jumping all around the board I am not as likely to weigh but I am going to have to do better as I am trying to track and find a pattern to the fluctuations and swelling.

Good Monday Morning My January Lovelies!!
And especially to you, Stephanie...it's always good to see you posting. I'm amazed at the magnitude of swelling you have to deal with! It must mess with your mind to see those numbers all over the place, but just remember how far you have come over all, and that any sharp regain is probably water. Now, lay off the processed meats and cheeses! lol

Today: 142.8 <-------this is why I don't weigh when I first get up! Gimme an hour and it will be down by a pound or more. ;o)
Well, I was supposed to have my labs drawn today in prep for my two year visit on Feb. 6 (I know, it's a week late!)...but, I have the migraine from hell this morning and fasting just isn't going to cut it. If I ever needed tea and coffee for the caffeine, without a doubt today is the day!
Good luck managing your sodium this week, Stephanie...just remember that it hides in nearly everthing pre-made or boxed.

It's snowing and bitter cold- 3 days ago we almost hit 70- but that's Colorado for you- at least it's sunny!!
My weight has been all over the board too... not sure what's up- am still working on consistency. Steph- tha****er weight would drive me insane- my 3 pound variance drives me crazy- don't know how you do it... it's got to be hard...

Oh Steph, I feel for you hon. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I noticed in the last couple of days because I feel puffy I hadn't weighed myself then this morning I weighed 145 yikes that up from my normal 142. Going to have to work harder at maintaining. I did start back out at the gym and I lift weights so am wondering if that may be part of it. I started back last Tuesday. I also feel for you Suz, I get migraines all the time and they are no fun. I am taking verapamil to manage them and Maxalt when I get one. The Verapamil seems to work really well but sometimes I forget to take it. You would think I would remember since not doing so causes pain. I hope you all have a wonderful week. I need to do better at weighing in. I know that keeps me accountable. I am trying a new vitamin, it's a multi vit that is liquid, not bad tasting and is supposed to give you great energy. I'll let you know how it works.
