Had my 1st PS consultation......

Hi everyone -
Well last night I had my 1st PS consult.....WOW....it seemed so surreal to be having it.
I loved the Dr. , he was great explaining and took all long time talking and showing me the procedures I wanted done.  I never felt rushed. I have to say i was exhausted when I got home - it was so much to mentally process and I only want to have my arms and chest done.
We agreed that I should have my arms and a breast lift w/ augmentation done at the same time. I could do them seperately, but I'm afraid if I have one done I won't go back if I have a bad experience.
the only thing that blew me out of the water was the price..... I knew it was expensive, but holy cow....25,000.00  is alot of $$  - esp, when I have 3 kids on their way to college in the next few years. My husband is real supportive and wants to me to get it done, to make me feel better about myself, but being the "mom" that I am, I don't know if i can justify it. Does that make sense to anyone.....For those of you who had PS - is that $$ amount in the same ballpark thatyou all spent? I live close to NYC - so I know that they charge more in this area, but I was just curious as to what other people paid.
I'm also going to make other appts, w/ other doctors to see what they have to say.

Hi Marta, hon you are worth every dime.  I did have the same problem though. Still struggling with it now.  Sigh.  Hubby is very supportive and I have to tell you I feel so great and have so much confidence now.  It is worth it.  I paid 18k for my LBL and BL

I just had a mini-consult at the Sacramento OH event a couple of weeks ago. For tt and a bl/ba it was about $17,000. I nearly choked. I think that CosMed in Mexico may be getting my business instead. From what I have heard, I can expect to pay about half of this quote if I go south of the border. A lot of people have had wonderful experiences there, so the idea of going out of country doesn't really bother me at this point.
I'm right there with you on the money, though. It's a lot to spend on what seems like a frivolous thing. But, to finally feel "complete" or "finished"....that may be worth the money. Plus, at least in my case, to not have to deal with rashes anymore...that would be sheer heaven!

Marta-
I totally understand your feelings on the money part.  We paid out of pocket for my GBS so anything more- YIKES!!!
I really could use a tummy tuck.  Vicky's Secret helps with my chest- but my gut is getting out of control.  When I wear tight pants I have a muffin top again.  UGH!!!
We have 2 teenagers too and college is sooooo expensive!!
If your husband supports you- then I would do it!!!

Don't know if you guys remember- but I went to Bogota, Columbia for my GBS and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!!  The care was so much superior than ours here.
It really scared my family- but wow- it was 1/4 of what I would have had to pay here and that included everything.
FYI...

I didn't mean to sound as though I was only supporting Columbia- I was just making a plug for medical tourism if you have no other options.  There are great doctors all over the world- the main thing is research, research and more research!!!

Wow Marta!  I would shop around, big time.  That is almost twice what my arms and breasts with augmentation was.  Mine was $12K for all three, AND I got the more expensive silicon implants, not the saline.

WOW that is a lot of $$ but you are worth it, you've come so far. I would get a second (and 3rd) opinion if I were you. I didn't have the procedures that you had done but here's what I had:

A tummy tuck $5000 (covered by insurance)
A vertical extenstion ($1000)
Breat Lift $6000

and it was worth every bit. I would love to have my arms done, but OMG that is a lot of $$$. I know it can be overwhelming, so don't rush into it. Take some time to process the info given to you and most of all SHOP AROUND!
