Suz-
Thanks for the accountability- I've been bad and need to get back on track. Am at the top of my window again at 134- ugh!!! Been eating anything and everything.
Had another iron infusion on Friday- it takes awhile so I hope I feel it soon. She wants me back in another 2 months for blood tests. I don't want to wait that long. My last infusion only lasted 2 weeks and it only brought my count up by 2. it will fall so much lower in 2 months- what a pain in the behind!!!
here's what came back irregular from my latest set of labs-
WBC- low
Hemoglobin- low
Hematocrit- low
MCH- low
RDW- high
lymphs- high
Neutrophils (absolute)- low
Vitamin D- low
Iron, serum- low
Ferritin, serum- low
I don't know what half this stuff is- or what it means. I love my Doc- she admitted she knows very little about post-GBS- but that she's willing to consult, discuss with me and learn. At what point do I need to see a specialist? Being tired is getting old...
I need to get back to exercising more regularly and eating better.
Here's to a good week-

Oh, sweetie...I'm so sorry that you are struggling with your values. Have you been taking your vitamins regularly? I sure hope so ! Well, I know the low iron values are somewhat common...Melting Mama has to have infusions, as well, because of her low levels. They never really seem to come up very far, though. I would think that if you go through an entire series of infusions and your levels don't improve to normal levels, it's probably time to consult a specialist. Then at least you can pass along what is learned to your PCP so that she can follow up and learn more about post-bypass labs and needs.
As for the rest:
Vit D can be supplemented along with Calcium, in multi vits, and/or separately...basically, you aren't getting enough, and aren't absorbing enough of what you are getting.
Low hemoglobin can be due to low iron, B12, and/or folate, in smokers, those living in high altitudes, due to dehydration at test time
Low hemocrit is due to same as above
Low WBC can be due to infection, or to a B12 and/or folic acid deficiency (these aid in WBC production)
Low MHC is related to blood glucose levels
High Lymphocytes could be due to illness, infection...ususally nothing to worry about
High RDW levels are likely due to anemia, B12 and/or folic acid deficiency
Low ferritin indicates low iron stores in the body
Low iron serum indicates low iron circulation in the blood
Low Neutrophils-absolute- can be due to...you guessed it....B12 and/or folate deficiency
I hope this helps some! It can all be so confusing!!

Oh yeah, words can't describe the freedom I feel, lol! I feel bad, but you know how it is, when you have more than one at the same age, well trouble just seems to find them! And OMG how they slow me down. There are days where it seems I have trouble even getting out the door with them. lol! Enjoy your quiet time too!
Suz-
Thanks so much for doing this!!! I really appreciate it!!!
I do take my vitamins faithfully now...I just don't seem to absorb too well. I'm on on Rx Vitamin D- 50,000 untis 1x/wk for 16 weeks.
Can you believe my B12 levels are good? Actually they're a tiny bit high- but she says not to worry about that. I take that one sublingually and for whatever reason it absorbs better.
Folate came back at 11.9- which i think is totally normal cuz it wasn't highlighted in bright yellow like all the others.
I personally think you're more than ready for nursing school!!!! :)
Thanks again-
