HERNIA'S, HERNIA'S HERNIA's!!!

HEY Everyone... well guess what? I just had ANOTHER hernia surgery. I had one in Jan. of this year too! Thursday started with alot of pain.. got to be unbearable! Went to ER.. they did surgery on me around 6pm. Found 2 hernias wrapped around my small bowel.. they did it laparoscropy... Now Im home recovering once again! My weight when i left the hospital was 153lbs.. YUCKY!! Lots of fluids... I weighed about 143lbs before... Hope it comes off fast! Hope everyone else is doing good!! Stacey

Well- that's a crappy fourth of July for ya!!!! Seriously- glad you on the mend and that they were able to do it lap. So did you just know what it was because the symptons were the same as last time? Don't worry the fluid will come off soon... Glad you're okay- Holly

Oh Stacy, poor thing. Been there done that, and bought the t-shirt too girlie! Glad they found them early. It's scary though because those darn things can obstruct the bowels if not caught early enough. I'm sure your was a partial if you had pain. I have another one too, but it's not concerning just yet. Is yours near the mesentary (top of your abdomen?) Word on the street is that they can put some mesh in there to keep it from happening again and strengthen that layer of tissue that keeps breaking through. Did your Dr suggest that since it's your second repair?

My doctor is not a fan of mesh. Mine have all been internal hernias and this one was strangling my bowel and there was actually two.

That really sucks, Stacey :o(. My surgeon said that he found one when I had RNY surgery, but so far it hasn't caused any problems for me. How did you know that it was something to worry about...did it just hurt that bad? I'm glad that you are on the mend again. ~Suz
