That is hilarious that we all weigh ourselves in the miorning everyday. I know many people on here weigh themselves monthly. I just couldn't cp that. Shoot,if I don'****ch what I eat and don't weigh daily I could put on weight withouth even knowing it. I hateliksathing
WHAT IN THE HECK???
I just reread the email that I just sent. I had no clue what I was saying in some parts Sorry! ! I'm tired today falling asleep here, plus I'm on IM with my girlfiend. . what in the heck? I can't even understand what I was saying here! SORRY I WAS IN AND OUT of this message and another one (can't get that multi tasking done huh?) I was typing you both back but mixing up words. That's a sign I need ot get my butt to bed. Night!!!
So, let's try this post again.
And what's your pattern? I don't have mine on a calendar but I gain 2-3 lbs about a week before my period and then on or about the 2nd day of my peroiod, I will drop the gain.
That is hilarious that we weigh ourselves in the morning everyday.I know for a fact that iit helps keep me in check with what i'm eating and then there's the pateince part. I don't have any!
OK- now I understand!!!
I think my pattern may be almost the same as yours but I drop the 3 pounds right before I get it. Well, atleast on one side anyway...
My every other month period doesn't seem to be as regulated as the other- it takes WAY longer and I gain more.
Goofy huh? That's one of the reasons I started tracking.
Holly
Make me three...except I am super obsessive and have to shower first, dry what little hair I have (it might add and ounce), and then I use the bathroom, then I can weigh in naked. It's crazy, but that's my everyday routine.
Oh, and school is moving right along. Friday marks the midterm for summer school, so I have my midterm test this weekend. Then, four more weeks to finals. As soon as this grade is dropped onto my transcript (it better be an A ;o)) I can send out my apps for nursing school. I still have to take Poli Sci this fall to complete my AS, but that's not a pre-req for nursing.
Oh Suz, I've noticed that if I get the girls going w/ breakfast do a little straightening up and get ready and then weigh myself, I go down a lb or two. Is that what you're finding?
I am sure you get this, with you being in shool and having kids, BUT OMG I don't get a breather, I am always on the go, rarely sit, you would think I'd be all skin and bones now. I honestly ate more when they were in school and didn't gain. ALthough I was exerising then. I have to get back on a workout schidule. I was doing fantastic (to the point of anal) w/ exercsing right up until the day before my plactic surgery. Then they told me to wait about 6 weeks to get back on an exercise routine - I must have thought they said 6 months not to exercise! lol! lol and just kidding!!!
I have to hand it to you, school, work and kids. How in the heck do you do it??? And then you're so chipper on here, I want what you're taking. lol!
I do find that I weigh less, sometimes by up to two pounds, if I wait about an hour after I get up to weigh. I tend to swell overnight, so giving my body a little time to slough off the water always pays off. And I don't exercise AT ALL! I feel better than ever when I'm active, but I don't really go out of my way to perform "formal" exercise. Sad, but true. Right now, just keeping up on my eating keeps me in check...and I already lost a couple of pounds since yesterday just because I haven't been eating enough.
As for school and kids and keeping up...I just refuse to let any more time pass me by! As it is, I will be nearly 40 years old before I am even out of nursing school (if I get right in!) and able to get a job. Besides, I keep envisioning that paycheck that I will be earning someday...that always keeps me moving! Either that, or it's all the chai tea lattes that I drink everyday .
Well from what I can tell Suz you are going to make a terrific nurse. You are kind and upbeat. You have so much going on and I'm sure are extremely busy, yet you take time for us and encourage us. You have all of the qualities a nurse should have.
I've been in the hospital for myself and my Mother several times. It's the nurses not the doctors that determine how your stay is going to be. A *****y nurse can ruin your day, but a loving, caring one makes it. I remember when my Mom was in the nursing home, many of the nurses would come in, say hi to my Mom, hug her, see how's she doing while they are checking her vitals or whatever. Then there were the ones that could care less, probably know nothing about you, they just do their job with an attitude. And God forbid you ring the little thing that they give you to call them, they even come in the room with an attitude.
And OMG you're almost 40? I would have never have guessed that. Lookign good girl! How many kids do you have?
I will be 37 on the 30th of this month, so by the time I am out of nursing school, 39-40 depending on when I get in and which school chooses me. I have three kids: son, Forrest, 16 years on the 29th of this month; daughter, MacKenzie, 12 years; daughter, Piper, 6 years.
As for the nurses, I completely agree. Actually, it is those kinds of positive experiences with nurses that showed me that nursing is the career for me. I'm not necessarily "Suzie Sunshine" all of the time, but I do know how to have compassion for those in pain or in need. I think that some nurses are book smart, but common sense and people stupid. With any luck and skill, I hope won't be that way. I'd really like to get into the bariatric field, perhaps as a surgical nurse or on the surgical floor for after care. We'll see....I still have a long road ahead.
