Period

I had some major changes in my period. I am more regular than ever before- this past cycle was 6 weeks- that's unusual for me- could go months before without having one. Since losing all the weight I am more frequent and the bleeding is heavier than I've ever had in my life. I turned 40 this past Sept- is this a symptom of early menopause anybody know? Lori's post made me make an ObGyn appt- but it's months away. I have PCOS too- but my symptoms are WAY better post WLS... Thanks- Brit

My periods have never been anything but irregular...since the first one at 9 years old. But, after surgery...I have a period every 28 days whether I want one or not! It is so annoying to have them so often...I really miss going 6-7 weeks without one. Mine are actually about as heavy as they were before I really hit critical mass with my weight...they lightened up a bit toward the end. Now...it's back to the way they were pre-fatty...okay days 1, 3, and to the end. But, day 2? I can't even leave the house!! I doubt that you are going through early menopause...it's just your body looking for a new normal. At least your PCOS is better than before... I never had that (that I know of) so I don't even know what the symptoms are but I can imagine that it's no fun. ~Suz

Holly - mine were never regular before the surgery either, but have been pretty much since the surgery. Although the first 2-3 months it was every 30 days, now it's starting to get more spread out, sometimes going 40 days. I wouldn't worry too much. Good luck @ the ObGyn!

Hey Holly~ I am glad you made an appt with your ObGyn and hope all is well. My cycle was always reg before surgery but it recently changed but that was because I got an IUD...a few months ago and it is much lighter...which freaked me out cause i got the non hormonal one and it was supposed to make my cycles heavier. Glad your PCOS symptoms have gotten better too. Keep us posted on how things go with your appt. Steph

Thanks you guys!!! My period was always lighter when I got really thin- so this has been kinda unusual for me. I am anxious to have my OBGYN appt- I thought for sure it was early menopause- but maybe not!!! Thanks- Holly
