Lori, I just cannot understand the whole staple/too small of pouch issue. At least now you are finally getting some answers on that front. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers!! You positive attitude is absolutely amazing!! Keep up the high spirits. Be sure to let us know the outcome of the cone biopsy. Hugs Anna

Lori, I am so saddened to hear your struggles. I haven't been online much lately, but I have read your posts and I have been praying for you. I just can't believe all that has happened to you. I know there are risks with this surgery, but you just never want to think it happens to anyone. I had a new person attend the support group that I lead this past weekend who has had around 4-5 surgeries since her RNY last April. Somehow they nicked her bladder and she became toxic. I just couldn't believe it all. You have such a wonderful and positive outlook and your disposition is what is needed. My mom has had 2 brothers, a sister and her mother all die of cancer. When my mom was diagnosed with uterine cancer, she stayed positive and said she is not going to let it get to her. She did have down days, but she just kept saying that she knew the lord made her strong enough to survive. She has been in remission for almost 18 years. I always have believed that God doesn't put more on us than we can handle. So you must be a very strong person and have a ton of resilience. You seem to be handling this better than most would. Please know that we are always here for you. Even though I have never met you in person, I still feel a close bond to you because all that those of us on the January board have shared the last year. I am going to ask my support group to pray for you as well. Please keep us posted. Lots of hugs and blessed thoughts coming your way! Lindy

Thanks for reminding us to go for checkups. I had done my checkup and not scheduled my mammo. You made me do it. Thanks. It came back abnormal. I go in for a sonogram and a specialized mammo (if I understood what they were saying) on Tuesday. They tell me the radiologist will read the test and talk to me about the results before I leave the office on Tuesday. Katy

You are in my prayers. Keep me updated. I'm still groggy from the D&C and cone biopsy I had done yesterday but physically I feel great. Still running tests but we should know more on all my stuff this next week. i will update as I know more.

I had the same thing happen a couple of months ago. I had to go back for additional films not once, but twice. It came back perfectly normal with the more detailed scans. I was shown my previous scans and films, with the circled suspect areas. Then, I was shown the new films and could see the compared areas. Don't even worry about it yet...I have heard that nearly half of all mammos need more detailed films taken to rule out preliminary "problems" seen in the first baseline film. ~Suz

Thanks Suz. I worried for about 5 seconds and then thought that there was no reason to worry at this point. God is in control--no matter what. As a cancer survivor of 28 years, I try not to overeact to mini-scares. I had cancer when I was 16. I am just very appreciativie of Lori keeping us all on track with her concerns for us. I had set the mammo orders aside and forgotten them until she urged us to take care of ourselves. I am just very impressed that they say they will tell me the results before I leave the radiologist's office. I don't like waiting to hear from a doctor. Hugs, Katy
