Stephanie, Not sure if you were around today...I was away last week... But I thought I'd kick this off for us - if that was okay. Also - I'm so excited that I'm continuing to lose - I want to shout it from the rooftops. (Problem is...but I guess it's a good problem - is either I buy something new or dry clean/tailor something from my old stash and then by the time I wear it...it's too big!) Here's my stats: SW:272 CW:158!!!! Total weight loss: 114 lbs. I really cannot believe it. My doctor is going to be blown away when I see her on Jan 30 (I purposely scheduled this exactly 1 year to the date of my surgery.) She told me that I might not get below 170. My goal was 150 - which I think is reasonable...so let's see. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a very happy new year. Can you believe it's 2008 already...and one year since our surgeries? Have a great week everyone! Best, Beth

Thanks Beth!! And way to go on being so close to goal!! Those last few pounds are very reasonable and I know you will exceed your goal!! Congrats on having such a sucessful journey!! Keep up the good work. I will be on a cruise for my one year anniversary...it sails on my surgeriversary! How cool is that? So I will not get to go for my check up on the exact date of my surgery..it will not be until February. But that is ok. I will be away enjoying my cruise!! So is anyone else doing anything special to celebrate their surgeriversary? Also, I adopted someone from the January 2008 board who is having her surgery today..please go by her support page and send her a message. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/members/status.php?N=G1189614021 Thanks Here are my stats HW 327 SW 322 LW 171.8 CW 170.2 Lost 1.6 pounds.

Have fun on your cruise! I hadn't thought about what to do to celebrate, but I need to celebrate. Every day seems like cause for celebration. I keep finding little things to get excited about and celebrate. I was getting stressed battling with pine needles and my vacuum cleaner today and I looked up at my hubby and announced that I was stressed and I really needed my workout. I was waiting for the trainer at the door today! LOL I am enjoying this life so much! Now I have to think of a way to celebrate my surgiversary and it needs to involve dressing up! Hugs, Katy B.

You are so right...everyday is a reason for celebration!! And it is good to find ways other than eating to celebrate. When I think about my current lifestyle and compare to my lifestyle this time last year..it is such an amazing turn around! Have fun with what every you choose to do to celebrate your surgiversary and make sure you take lots of pictures to share with us! I am going on the WL Celebration Cruise that OH posted about last summer so it should be lots of fun. Talk to you soon. Stephanie

Stephanie, What a great idea to adopt a new WLS patient! How do I go about doing this as well? Don't mean to be a copycat...I just really would love to do this. I was actually thinking of seeing how I can become a spokesperson for WLS. Best, Beth

Hey Beth!! Alice U from our board actually came up with that great idea! So you are not copying me!! lol After she suggested it, I went onto the Jan 08 board and clicked on the Roster of Members link on the left hand side, scrolled thru the names and tried to either find someone who shared my surgery date or my same starting weight or something else in common. I shot three emails out to the people I picked and explained that I had my surgery and almost a year ago and if they were interested I would love to be a resource for them as they start their journey. All three of them responded positively and I have had lots of communication with two of them! It is really cool! Please go out there and adopt you someone! I wish I had someone to adopt me last year when I first started my journey. The ladies I have been talking with have lots of questions and concerns and it feels good to be able to answer them from personal experience! One of them had her surgery on Monday and I have been talking to her and texting her to check on her. Good luck with your "adoptation"

Good Monday Morning, January Lovelies! It is a beautiful, finally rain-free morning here in CA. I am heading out to drop off the kids at their various schools...what a morning. Then, I will hopefully have time to get my 1 year lab work done today in preparation for my 1 year visit on the 18th (early, I know). Here's my numbers for the week: Surgery/high: 251.5 Last Monday:142.6 Today: 143.8 Loss/gain: +1.2 I wanted to gain back up nearer to 145...so I think it's working! We'll see now if I can maintain the weight. Have a fantastic day ladies!! ~Suz

Hi there ladies...just dropping in to do the usual Monday morning results: HW: 232 SW: 228 LW: 121 CW: 120.8 I am back down to where I was the week before last. I guess this is a new comfort zone for me. I still have not been feeling well. I have had some kind of upper respitory infection now for about 3 weeks. I think i am going to have to break down and go in and get an antibiotic. Not looking forward to gaining some weight, but I am tired of being miserable in the head and it's also kept my stomach in an uproar of nots. I think from the drainage. Oh well, gotta hate the winter months. Or at least I do, they are never good to me. I hope everyone has a great week! Especially as we all get closer to our 1 year anniversary. Hugs, Lindy

Lindy, You live in Texas...WINTER? Pshhh...down here in these parts it's 80 this week. But I too had a very serious cold or something last week. I finally shook the coughing in the last 48 hours... Darn allergies!

I know, who am I too complain when we have such a mild winter. Well, yes, I have suffered from some kind of cold / allergy infection since just before Christmas, just can't seem to shake it. It has been very nice this week here, not in the 80's but close. With my Sjogren's, I don't do well in any temp under 75 degrees or any hot / cold back and forth. It dries me out really bad and I have severe arthritis like problems and then some. Hope you are feeling better! Hugs, Lindy
