Please, Please.. do lots of research BEFORE!
Just want everyone to do ALOT of research before having plastics done.
Did anyone see Dr. Phil yesterday?
A doctor does NOT have to be board certified in Plastic surgery to perform Plastic surgery. That's NUTS!!! I comfirmed this with a doctor I work with.
So please do LOTS of research.. Ive seen TT's come undone.
I also met a lady that had lost like 200lbs... got plastics and said she was still unhappy, She still won't wear short sleeves or shorts, or a swimsuit, cause she said she may not have the skin anymore, but she has the scars.
I don't want to scare anyone, I just want to make sure everyone does it for the right reasons (health) and do lots of research!!
I dont want any of my OH friends to go through bad times!
I wish everyone the best of luck and happiness with their plastics!
Stacey
I am not anywhere near the point of consider PS but you gave excellent advice Stacey.
I had no idea TT could come undone. Eek!
I have been watching the surgery as different ones in my support group have it done. They are a good resource of the reality and followup that a well made website won't give you.

Thanks for the advice.. i just went for a plastics consult with a board certified surgeon... he was awesome and very upfront and honest. The fact of the matter is that you are goin to give up all that excess skin... but u are goin to be left with scars. Its the trade off. I do believe anyone and everyone should go to a well known board certified doctor and do their research as you said Stacey! The one thing the plastic surgeon said to me is.... you have to have reasonable expectations... your not going to come out looking like barbie or ken..... and i believe that!
very good point Christine, we won't come out looking like Barbie, but we have had gotten rid of the excess skin!! When I get my TT done I am expecting scars, but really besides my dh, who is going to see them? I will never wear a bikini!!
I agree with Cathy though, do your research on any doctor you select. You might want to call your WLS and see if they have a recommendation.
