This is so funny!
I have this mind problem.. Does anyone else? I think I look different, but not unrecognizable. Listen to this......
We have Texas Hold-em party's in the winter time with like 10 other couples... Alot of fun.
Well the other day Hubby and I went to Walmart and I pasted up this girl that I know actually fairly well and said "HI, Heidi how are you doing?" She kept walking and said "fine". Mind you this is someone that came to my house twice a month and plays cards with us. I havent seen her since March. They were suppose to come a couple weeks ago, but I got put in the hospital. Ive talked to her on the phone a couple times and their spending New Years Eve with us.
Well anyway... she was kinda rude. I told Tony (DH) "I think she was snotty" He said "she probably didnt even know who you were?" I said "What?"
I was NOT with Tony when I seen her. Then as were walking around we seen her and her husband AGAIN... She was like "OH MY GOD"... "I didnt know who you were".
WHAT??????? I dont see myself looking that different. Now Im going to have all these people come to my house on New Years Eve, that I havent seen since March, I am going to feel REALLY uncomfortable.
Am I the only one that feels this way?
I'm having a hard time with compliments.
Another one I have to deal with, is this saturday night Im going with Tony to his Xmas party... Im scared!!!
Oh Stacey, don't be scared. You look wonderful and you are going to have a terrific time. When you get a compliment, just say 'thank you--I feel really great". It takes the emphasis off the looks and reminds you why you did this in the first place. It is about good health!
Party? Oh that means SHOPPINGGGGGGGG! Woo HOO!
Hugs,
Katy B
lol - that is funny. I have had people that knew me walk right past me too! I like to say hi and get their reaction!!! I don't think I look that different, but then when I look at before and after pics I see the difference. It's funny when people look at my drivers license then look at me, it's like they think I'm scamming then. I had to go get a new license last week, I was tired of looking at the old one. It was $9 but worth it. You look like a million dollars!
Don't be scared, have fun with it. I am going to say the "why thank you, I feel wonderful!" That's a good idea. I have hubby's Christmas party on the 8th and I am so excited to go to it. I even got a new outfit...yippppeeee!!! You look wonderful...just go with the flow.
I did have that happen to me fairly early on about 50lbs ago....lol. My next door neighbor came running over one day. The man is probably in his 70's. He wanted to know if one of my sisters came to visit and when I came to the door he was like omg that was you. Hahaha. I got a good laugh out of it and so did hubby. I am having a problem with people saying I need to stop, because I am going to blow away. I'm in a size 12 so that is not likely. I just say well I still have some to go to get to doctors goal then I'll decide if I want to go lower. Then they say well don't get too skinny you'll be sick. Uuuugh I know they mean well and I know it can happen but I really don't think I will have that problem.
Any way.....have a great time at the party and we want pics.

I think it is great, but I totally understand. When I see people I haven't seen in a while, it just makes me uncomfortable when they make a big deal. I find myself just saying how great I feel and then trying to change the subject! You'll do great, though, and both parties sound like a lot of fun!
Janie- I had to break out my DL the other day as ID and I realized that for the first time in my life, I weigh LESS than my DL weight! lol! I might have to join you and get a new one!
