NEED HELP WITH A HABIT...
Oh Boy, Genie. I had the same issue with pretzels. I bet it isn't about the pretzels at all, it is more about the sodium. At least that is what I found.
I am not going to be a huge help, but wanted you to know I sympathize with you. The only idea I can possibly give is to buy a bag for your house, and place a few in a ziplock to bring to work. It is going to take you consciously telling yourself that this is all you are having. Not sure if it will work, but it might cut out on the calories and carbs. Even if it just cuts it in half.
or if you are buying the snack size bags, open the bag and take out half of them and throw them out!!! Unless you feel like you can eat half and put the rest in your desk for the next day. If not, throw them out before even having one. Then eat what is left.
Good luck, I know I am not much help, but wanted you to know I cared.

The only advice that I can give is to count them. I eat the 100 calorie snack packs of various foods all the time. But, if I am eating out of a larger package, I count out half of the recommended serving size to put in a small bowl. That way, I get my snack at half of the calories. If I really want more later, I still have half a serving left...which is usually enough for my pouch. So, in your case, you could break the snack size bag down into two 80 calorie snacks, instead of one larger one. Just make sure that you can be honest with yourself....otherwise you may need to go cold turkey and cut them out all together.
Another thought...is it the crunch that you crave or the salt? Maybe there is something else, like soy crisps, that will satisfy your needs while adding a bit of protein and without adding too many calories? I eat those a lot!!

Hey Genie:
I like to use the protein chips and protein pretzels from http://kaysnaturals.com/products.html they are pretty good to me. They have different flavors for the chips and pretzels and the nutritional information is listed on the website. Hope this helps.

Genie,
I will follow up what the others said (all great ideas btw, going to have to try the ones Steph recommended and that's a great trick Suz! I'm stealing them both.) with my protein snack version of Genisoy Protein Chips -- I love the Cinnamon Apple flavored, gives me my crunch factor but with some protein. I get them at a local grocery story that has a big organic/ whole foods selection.
They come in all kinds of flavor if what you are looking for is salty instead of just crunchy.
But we all understand, I think we all have our favorite "carb" snack that we are trying to beat. So keep trying ... you are doing awesome with your weight loss!
