Low Potassium

Hello all, I just wanted to put in my warning as well as we start winter/flu season. I have been doing very well since my surgery but found myself in the emergency room on Halloween morning. I had felt sick to my stomach after dropping my son off at the high school and barely made it to my office bathroom. I had a round of diarrhea and threw up once. I got to my office desk and thought it would pass. It didn't. Here are the symptoms that soon landed me in the ER... nausea dizzy started in legs but soon legs and arms were numb and tingling chills headache End result- low potassium and dehydration after only one episode of throwing up. I was really surprised because I get all my water in and more. I also must admit that I didn't realize just how important potassium is to a healthy heart and nervous system. Enough about me- just wanted everyone to know and be aware. Thanks, Mary

Thanks for the information Mary. Glad that found out what was going on and hopefully you are set for a speedy recovery. What did they instruct you to do to get more potassium in? Thanks
