Happiness is....
Apparently in Mexico...Guadalajara to be exact.
I am seriously looking into going there for plastics at the end of next summer when I am finished with my undergrad degree. I will probably have one semester (Fall) off before the nursing program (provided I get chosen on the first time around), so I figure that would be a great time to get my body sliced and diced one last time. Okay, maybe one last time . There are so many things that I want/need to have done and it is soooo much less expensive there.
I checked into this place called Air Lift, Inc.. They coordinate travel for the patient, room and board while recovering, surgeon and all tests and fees, a bilingual driver, on and on. A tummy tuck is $3000! That is less than half of what the surgeons here want to charge. Breast lift $3000, augmentation $4000. This includes all hospital and surgeon fees, and room & board. I have to pay for airfare and tips for staff and drivers, any labs needed, and compression garment. The way I figured, I can have a lift, tt, and medial thigh lift for about what I was going to pay for only tt here.
An aquaintance actually told me about this company after a friend of hers had some procedures done recently. She is completely happy about the results!! So, I am going to get in touch with them and request a list of references here in the states to contact. My closest friends now all want to go, too. It's going to be a full house if we can get everyone scheduled at the same times!

That is very cool...though that seems a little scary to me to go as far as Columbia or India. Somehow Mexico doesn't seem quite as distant. I did read some info on India, but I'm not sure if the added airfare wouldn't push the cost for that too far out of reach. In any case, it looks like I have more time than money right now, so any nips and tucks will have to wait anyway. But, I will definately keep you all posted on what I come up with!
Yeah, this whole thing is only in the information-gathering phase right now. $3,000 or $13,000...it's still more money than I have and more time than I can invest right now. So, checking out this entire process will be my task for the next half a year at least. Hopefully, this company will check out fine and by this time next year I will be a little bit poorer and a whole lot happier!!
Thanks for the information Suz! I will definitely look into this as well. One my co workers found some great prices for Plastic out in California somewhere but I dont remember where it was. He said the prices were so much cheaper than they were in Tennessee and that is where he was planning on getting his done. But if you are in Cali and found something cheaper in Mexico...I think I will check into them both!
