9 month Check Up..have you had yours? How did it go?
I just realized that mine is two weeks away!! My has time flown by! Since 6 month check up on August 2, 2007, I have lost about 23 pounds. I must admit I am a little sad because I really see the weight loss has slown down a lot. At my three months check up, I had lost 43 pounds (in 11 weeks) and at my 6 months check up I had lost 49 (in 14 weeks).
So now I am having to challenge my self to see if I can lose at least 7 more pounds by October 25, 2007. It does not sound like a lot but when my average is about 2 pounds a week (sometimes less) the 7 pounds will be a challenge to get off.
So guys...send me some prayers, fairy dust, and positive thoughts for the next 15 days so I can meet or hopefully exceed my 7 pound goal!! Thanks
Stephanie
Hi Steph,
I had my 9 month last week. I asked my surgeon about a goal and also about what I can expect at this point.
She said that having lost 75% of my overweight and losing 115 pounds, that even if I didn't lose another pound, they'd deem me a "success".
She said there's no real goal. I'm eating the way I'm supposed to be, I'm exercising, getting in my water and supplements, so my body will just decide when it's at a place it would like to maintain.
At first I was hoping for a number to reach for, but the more I think about it, I like her thinking. My goal was to get healthier and prevent disease, etc. So, I'll just see where I end up and keep on keeping on. Would I like to lose more weight? Of course! But I'm finally feeling like I have a "healthy" mentality about it all. (today anyway )

Thanks for your response Kerry and congrats on being a success already!! I have not quite lost 75% of my excess body weight yet...but I am working on it daily. I do feel like my mentality has changed for the better as far as the decisions I make about what to eat and exercising. And it is making a difference. I do have my days when I fall off the wagon and dont want to get back on...but I remember the reason why I had this surgery and get back up and start over again.
