Hi Jess! Welcome to the site. I think the closer we get to our goal weight the harder it is to lose the weight. But remember, the at least the first 12 months are when we have this window of opportunity to loose. Even if you face a stall every now and then, we still have at least 4 more months of weight loss! Maybe even longer!! Do you track your eating on any websites like fitday? That way you can see what your caloric intake and carb intake look like and tweak as needed. I am sure you will get some good tips and responses from others on this board! Hope to see you around more often!

Hey, Jessifer... I haven't lost 100 yet (-95 pounds), but I am getting close! From what I have learned, the amount that we lose each month is dependent somewhat on how much excess weight we still have left to rid our bodies of. So, for someone like me who may only have 10-20 pounds left to reach goal, my loss each month will be much slower than someone who still has 50-100 left to lose. I have heard the estimated figure of possible loss each month to be 10% of your excess weight. You can see that the possible amount of loss slows down considerably the closer you get to goal...it can slow to a trickle. Stephanie also has a great point...do you log your food intake? Also, are you eating too many or not enough calories? Too many carbs? Not drinking enough water? So many factors can slow or even stop your weightloss. It is also possible, if you are stuck and aren't losing, that you have hit a plateau or a stall. Then, you just have to stick with the rules and wait it out until your body decides to start losing again. I wish you the best and hope that some of this helps. ~Suz

I agree with both ladies. I am 17 lbs from doctors goal and it is really creeping for me. It is coming off though and I just don't worry about it unless I've been naughty then I'm like see ya big dope...want to end up being that old tired fat person again? That usually puts me back on track. I have pretty consistantly lost 10 gained 2, lost 10 gained 2 for month now. Lately it's like lose 4 gain 2, lose 4 gain 2. We'll get there. I do suggest keeping the log of what you are eating though it really does help put things into prospective. I was stalled big time at the beginning and I was like what the heck? I started doing fitday only to find out I wasn't getting enough calories and my body was being stingy and hanging onto everything....starvation mode. I just wasn't getting the calories needed to make up for the exercise I was doing. Hope this helps!! Anna

Thank You All, i do keep track of food on here i guess i do eat more carbs now then what i use too. i am having alot of probs getting in all my protien and it is so hard. i get all my fluid in i don't drink any pop but i do drink alot of coffee. i am i would say about 100 lbs from my goal weight and yes it is harder i lose then gain 2lbs so it gets fusterating. but i also lack exercise lately, meaning i haven't been doing it as much as i should be doing it. i do get out and walk or clean house and do laundry...lol Jessifer
