Incisional hernia?

8 months out Post-Surgery: I'm a little worried about something that I think could be the beginnings of an incisional hernia. I have had relatively no problems since my surgery, but I did notice a slight tingling around one of my incisions about a month ago. (Nothing major, just made me think 'Hmm..') Then, just a couple days ago, a small red dot started to appear right next to that incision/scar. It's about as big around as a pencil eraser, and it's slightly bruised. I'm going to contact my doctor on Monday, but it doesn't hurt, and I don't think it's urgent. So anyone that has had a hernia --- should I be scared? Does this sound like a hernia? Maybe it's a cat-scratch that I just don't remember? lol

Cathryn, Have to agree with posting on the main board, sounds like a good idea. Unfortunately, it does seem logical that you are right which sucks. Hope we're both wrong...good luck! Michele

Well, I posted on the main board, and from the sound of other people's posts, it probably isn't a hernia. It could be a bug bite (although it doesn't remind me of one) or like I said... a tiny cat scratch? Lol The bruising has disappeared a little bit, so I guess that's good. I'm gonna call my doc in the morning and see what he thinks, but I'm a little reluctant to miss a whole day of work/school for this unless it worsens... sooo...
