QUESTION about sizes.
Ok... Here is my question... I was a size 16 pants like FOREVER (it seemed like) then all of sudden they are to big and Im a size 14. I had a friend tell me once you hit a size 14 sizes go down quicker... is that true? I would love to be a size 10, but feel like I have 45 lbs to go and I'll never be a size 10. Can't even grasp being smaller than that. I feel Like I should prepare myself to stop at a size 12.
What's your thoughts?

I don't know about sizes either, but I didn't stay in the size 14's or 12's very long at all. I skipped the 16's all together for the most part.
I am currently in 8/10's, but some 12's depending upon the style of the clothes.
I am 5'3", 146 lbs right now. I think height has a great deal to do with it as well. Taller people will always wear a bigger size.
I hope this helps answer your question. Not sure that there really is a real science to it.

I was stuck in 16 for a long time also. But I think I have to agree with Terrisa, since I reached a 14 it seems that only about 10-15 lbs divides the sizes. I bought size 14 shorts and within 6 weeks they were too big. Now my 12's are too big and I was only in those for about a month. I tried size 10 shorts on this weekend and they fit fine, so it certainly apppears that sizes change much quicker but it still depends on the cut.
Well...I think that I might tend to agree with your friend's view...at least it seemed that way for me. I was in a 14 for what seemed like a long while, though really I have passed through so many sizes so quickly what does a "long while" really mean anyway? lol. I went from a 20/22, to a 16 for a couple of weeks, to a 14 for a few weeks, to a 12 for 1 week (I am still irritated that I bought 12's that I only wore once!), and into a 10 which are already getting lose after only a few weeks. Let me say that I am perfectly okay with almost being out of 10's already!!
I seem to remember reading or being told that for every 10 pounds one loses, they can expect to drop down one size. That nearly holds true for me, except for the first 20 or so pounds...those seemed to not make as much difference. Now that I am in smaller sizes, I seem to be moving down much quicker. How tall you are or aren't may come into play, as well. For instance, I am 165# @ 5'6" and currently in a size 10, but I fully expect to lose at least 15 more pounds before tt, so that would easily put me in an 8 or 6 before I have even had surgery to flatten the belly. If a person is shorter, their weight in relation to their height may delay reaching a smaller size as quickly, but it shouldn't prevent them from doing so. As long as a person's weight-to-height ratio is on target, they will get into that smaller size. Depending on your height, body frame, and excess skin...you could probably expect to get to a size 8 or 6, as well, if you lose the 45# that you want to.

That's funny- I think I spent the most amount of time in a size 12. I am just now getting rid of them because my mother and MIL keep telling me that they are just too big- and now that i can take them off without unbuttoning them- I have to agree.
I am 5'6" and am currently 144. I have size 8 and 10's in my closet for pants- depending on the brand- probly more 10's.
I have triplets- so you can imagine - or maybe you shouldn't- what my stomache looks like- that's where clothes are the tightest on me- when previously they were tightest on my thighs.
Getting back to my point- the 10's and 8's do seem closer in size to me....you'll get there and don't spend a lot of money on clothes yet!!!

I dont know and havent really been paying attention.I hope to lose 40 more pounds and since i am in a 16 with room at 219 pounds 5'7 i cant emagine what size 180 would put me.I use to say i wanted to get to a 16 but now i dont know what size i do know that i remembe feeling my best at 180-185 pounds so that why i am aiming for that.Funny thing is I know i have a chance of losing more than that its amazing
Ok I am not much help on this issue because January 9 of this year I was a 22 and now I am a size 4!!! Every pound I lose I say to myself sizes must be bigger these days because I still think I'm pretty big. I never thought I would wear a 4. Hang in there people tell me I am too little now. You are going to get to a size you never thought you could! Keep up the good work!
