Monday Morning Weigh In
Well at least I lost 3 lbs this week. Its better than 0lbs last week. Still wi**** was more tho.

Are you guys finding you can eat alot more now? Its freakin me out. I ate a whole sandwich I made today..it was 1 english muffin cut in half with PB and bananna on it. I was able to eat it all. Up until now Ive only eaten half a sandwich. But thats not doing it anymore. Im so afraid my pouch is too big or my stoma is stretched. But Ive only thrown up maybe 3 times since surgery. So I dont see how I could have damaged it. This is driving me crazy!!!

I find I can eat WAY more than I ever thought possible- I don't believe I have stretched mine either. It kinda freaks me out too. When I get really nervous I make sure I measure and then chart on fitday- and sometimes it's not as bad as I think- but then sometimes it is- so it reminds me to make wiser choices when I'm feeling the need for greater volumes of food.

Thanks Holly. I guess I just pictured such a small amount of food that ZId be able to eat post-op, and now I eat what really would be a "normally thin" persons meal. Does that make sense? LOL
Ive tried to use fitday but it confuses me. Im not too computer literate. I do try to measure my food tho and keep a rough estimate on calories/carbs/protein. It just seems like alot of people pretty much drink thier meals and eat very little still at yrs out, so I wonder why they dont get hungry like I do.
ARGH! Im just driving myself crazy, LOL. One day at a time...

Hey Again Mary.....you are not alone believe me...I notice all the time that the amount of food I am able to eat is the what already thin ppl eat...some times I feel like I can eat more than they do. I think this is just a normal part of it and we are still getting used to our new eating habits....I believe it will get easier for us as time goes by....it has only been 7 months for us and we have gone thru some major changes. But I like you, try and measure my food out and only eat that portion. I think I chew more bubble now to keep me chewing on something other than food. Don't drive your self nuts...but if you do..you will have good company cause I have already driven myself crazy!! ((HUGS))
Hey you had a great week!! And I don't like english muffins (never have eaten them) but I don't remember them being so big...are that that big muffins?? And peanut butter is a thin layer kind of thing too...I don't know, it just doesn't seem like a lot to me to eat at one time...when I put a toated english muffin, i medium banana, and 1 tablespoon of peanut butter into fit day..it comes out to be 331 calories and 9 grams of protein....If we are shooting to eat between 1000 and 1200 calories a day.....you are on target. If you have 3 meals a day at 331 cal a meal..that is only 993 calories...how does that sound?? You are doing great so keep up the good work! And congrats on your 3 lb loss this week!!
Thanks Janie. Yeah its frustrating isnt it? I get the munchies too. I dont even buy chips or junk anymore cause I know if I did Id eat them, so I do PB and baby carrots instead, or soy crisps...something healthy. I guess I just had a mental image of the food we'd be able to eat after surgery and it was alot less than what I actually eat. And I never get "full". I just stop because its my measured amount and I know I shouldnt eat more than that. But it gets harder everyday.
