6 Month Check up
Hi All: I have not really been on site this week and guess what?? I missed you guys! I had my six month check up today and I am so excited! I weighed in at 216 pounds! My highest weight was 327 and my surgeon pre op weight for me was 322 so I am down a total of 111 pounds! And 106 pounds since surgery!! I was so excited and so thankful that God has blessed me with wls and that He has sustained me this far! I don't even feel like I have had surgery other than watching the pounds fall off. I just wanted to share my moment with you all and will talk to you soon!! I am now a member of the century club!
Stephanie--That is phenomenal!!!! I can't believe you lost over 100 lbs. in 6 mos. I hope it continues to "fall off" in the next 6 mos. I had my 6 mos. checkup yesterday and my surgeon said she was so proud of me. I've lost 70% of my excess weight which is what they hope for in patients at 1 year--only I did it in 6 mos. (I told her at the beginning I would be one of her success stories.) In fact, her student surgeon was upset because he had the same BMI as me!
So WOW--a member of the Century Club--I can only imagine how that must feel. Keep up the great work--you're really an inspiration to us all. Thanks, Jen
Stephanie,
Wow ....... That is great. I am so happy for you... Century Club too.....
I saw my Dr. today also. He was on vacation and had me scheduled later than my6 month anniversary date. He was pleased with me. I told him thank you and I think I surprised him ( and Myself ) and gave him a great big hug and thanked him for making me so happy again. I haven't lost 106 like you but I know how you feel and I am sure I must feel as great as you. No .. I know I do! Now we just have to keep it off. Which we will. He also told me that exercise is the most important thing now to maintain our weight. More so when we are all done losing !! So..................... Sweating ToThe Oldies... Here I come...Have a nice upcoming weekend. It is finally hot here 90's today. It's funny but I love being out in the heat this year. As I am now always cold. See you Monday Morning.
Hugs !! Roxanne
Thank you Roxanne! I am excited and happy for you too!! And I am like you..I love to be out in the heat..even before the surgery!! lol And you should feel great!! This has been an interesting journey we are on! I agree 100% that the hard part is going to start in the maintenance phase. This first six months have been a breeze, but I can't imagine it being this easy in 5 years. But we will claim our victory over the battle of the bulge we have fought for so long...and now we are on the winning side!
NO! I did not think I would be 216! I was hoping to be at least 222 which would have put me at exactly 100 pounds. So I was very excited to see his scale say 216. The scale at the gym said 216 on Wednesday, but it is always lower than my doctor's scale and my scale at home so I did not think much of that. And I cant believe that onderland is so close now! It is unbelievable! 16 more pounds to go...
