Holy Moly Stephanie, is that really what was posted as the labs we need drawn as WLS patients? I had my labs drawn at my PCM's office last week for my 6 month follow-up with my surgeon...they took 6 large vials of blood for what my surgeon requested and the technician said she was draining me. If I had ALL of those tests that you listed I'd need a blood transfusion These are the blood tests my surgeon requires, and my NUT added the last two: 1. CBC 2. IRON 3. IBC 4. CALCIUM 5. ALBUMIN 6. ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE 7. VITAMIN B-12 8. VITAMIN D (OH) 25 9. PARATHYROID (PTH) 10. VITAMIN D Hope this helps. Denise

Hey Denise: Your CBC (complete blood count) includes a entire plethra of test! Which is probably 80% of that list. It is broken down in all the sub categories so that we can track each individual level, each time our labs are drawn. Thanks

The instruction book given to me at my bariatric surgery/nutrition training says, "Must monitor nutrient and blood indices, including a complete blood count, B12, folate and serum iron levels." Lynn B.
