Oh Holly I'm sorry your back is getting worse. I hope the steroid shot helps. Let us know how you're doing. Are you on any good pain meds? I hope so! You'll get to the 140's soon! Your taller than I am and your BMI is lower than mine right now I think. I just looked at your after pic you took in May and you look fantastic, like a totally different person. Feel better!

Congrats on reaching the 140's, Janie! You are moving down so quickly...I am a wee bit jealous. But, it sounds like you are really working hard. I seem to be lucky to get my 2 miles in on the treadmill every other day...everyday would take a miracle! And, I am so with you on not jogging outside...I have too much jiggly tummy to even consider mortifying myself or anyone else with that sight! I'm embarrassed for my kids to see me jog on the treadmill, let alone the neighborhood...it is quite the sight. But, the girls up top...YEAH!!!!! mine are going down fast! You never know, the loss might start hitting there next. It took a while for me, really it started just in the last month. I had a reduction about 9 years ago after my second baby...next to WLS it was the next best thing I've done for myself. I felt immediately better in regard to back and shoulder pain...I woke up in recovery and felt such relief even with breathing. I am sure that those little ladies of mine are going to have to be nipped and tucked again to be presentable! Keep working hard...you're almost to goal!!! ~Suz

Oh yeah, my tummy jiggles when I jog too, another reason I won't jog outside! You are so lucky your "girls" are going down fast. I wish there was an exercise we could do to lose in that particular area. lol! That's good to know that you felt the immediate results of a reduction, I wonder if I only have the $$ for a breast reduction or a TT which one I would choose? Probably a TT because that's what I hate the most. Thanks so much!!!!!! Can't wait to see how everyone is doing tomorrow!

You know, my reduction was payed for by insurance because of the pain in my back and shoulders. I had it done way before I even made it to being obese...so I know that the pain was all caused by those whoppers...I was a F cup...a G or H while pregnant. Anyway, I just started making appointments with my PCP to complain, then I had to go to physical therapy for a few sessions, and keep my weight steady. After all that, I was sent to a surgeon for measurments and pics to be sent to the insurance co. It cost about $13,000 total for surgeon and hospital fees. I payed $0. At any rate, it might be something for you to check out if you are having problems with their weight and such. Let me know if you want anymore info about what they look for to approve you.

WOW Suzanne, you were big on top! What size did you go down too? It was $13,000 just for a reduction? Did you have a lift too? See, I thought about going to see my PCP for back and shoulder pain to get my insurance to cover it, but I want to do that for my tummy "rash" to see about getting them to cover a tummy tuck. Don't you think it will seem suspicous to my PCP (and the insurance co.) that I'm complaining of a rash on my tummy and back pain right after my WLS? If I had to chose one for insurance to pay for it would be a TT. Maybe later on I can go and complain about back/shoulder pain. I would have to be put under twice, but hey it might be paid for if I do it that way. I wish I could do them both at once though! Are you going to need/get a TT or no?

I went down to a very full C/small D, but went back up to about a DDD with my weight gain over the years. They generally do a lift with the reduction. Now, I am back down to a small, squishy D, and it seems that I am likely to go a lot lower. A lift or augmentation (YUCK!!) may be in order later. The tummy on the other hand...that went bad after my first pregnancy...I lost the baby in the 5th month but already was getting stretch marks. I was only 150 lbs. at that time, which for me was a size 5. With my son, I only gained 18 1/2 lbs. but he was 8 lbs. 9oz....I had to have a c-section because he was in breech presentation. The stretch marks from him were awful, all the way up to my sternum!! Not to mention the c-section scar. The next was a big girl @ 8 lbs., more stretch marks, vaginal birth, 20 lbs. gained. The third, and last, was the largest, a girl at 8lbs. 11oz....another c-section, and I only gained 21 lbs. Appearantly, my body was not built to have kids!! So, the jiggly tummy was mostly from them, but the weight didn't help matters any. Plus, they found a hernia while doing my RNY, so surgery is a given for that. Hopefully, I can get that and a tt done at the same time. I am not going to hold my breath for insurance to pay for a tt, though it would be nice. As for it seeming suspicious about needing both...not at all! We generally gain a lot of breast fat when we are obese...that doesn't mean that all of it goes away when we lose the excess weight, though. If it is bothering you...then it is a problem that needs to be corrected. I would definately gripe about all of it...and often! They seem to go hand-in-hand from what I can see. The worst they can do is to say no to one or both. Do you know when your docs start moving on plastics? Some say a year after your goal weight is reached, some say sooner. I have no idea what mine does .

Suz - thanks for all that info. It really does help me. I think my WLS says wait at least a year after surgery and that your weight should be stable for at least 3 months. So, that's put me at next March 08. I would hope to be at goal by then and stable. I will see, but I am thinking I will try to get insurance to do both. You were very helpful though! You rock!

Janie, That is FANTASTIC. I too just started running on the treadmill and agree the sports bra is the way to go. LOL!! I am so happy for you breaking into the 140's. I just broke into the 160's and love how it feels so I can imagine your excitement. Keep up the great work, and I hope to see you at 125 soon. Crystal
