3 meals or 3 meals and 2 snacks
Hey Holly! I eat 3 meals and just one snack at night. I feel that if I had 2 or 3 snacks like suggested I would go over my 1000 calories. And it's not like I eat huge meals. For bkfast it's usually 1/2 cup Kashi cereal w/ 1/4 cup FF milk, for lunch 1/2 to 3/4 Lean Cuisine or weigh****chers meals (depending on the calories and carbs) or those tuna kits (great protein) and then usually meat and salad for dinner and a snack at night. If I had more I think it would go over 1000 calories.
How 'bout you, what do you do?
I do the 3 meals and no snacks..unless you count the gum I chew all day!! And I also have my protein powder mixed with water at least once a day...so I guess I can count that as a snack.. I don't know. Lets just say I don't have any good snacks..... I have one not so yummy snack. lol This way I stay within my 1000 cal guideline. I have on occassion had more to eat in the day than 1000 calories, that is when I have more than one protein drink....
Hey Holly I am doing 3 meals and 2 snacks but only because I was not getting enough calories in through the day and my snacks consist of Koshi bars...so yummy. and cottage cheese. Breakfast is still a protein drink, lunch is some type of meat with cheese. Dinner is some type of meat with cheese and sometimes I splurge on a taco salad.

I usually aim for 3 meals and 2 snacks...but often I still don't hit 800 calories. So, a third snack is sometimes in order to get the calories or protein up for the day. If I don't break the meals up into at least 5 attempts to eat, I will just forget about eating all together...and that's no good. Even with that, I often get side tracked during meals and I lose interest in eating. Protein shakes have been a blessing now that I have found one that I actually like to drink!

Holly,
I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks.
Here is what I usually have:
B: cottage cheese and mandarin oranges
snack: yogurt
lunch: can of soup or a taco salad from Wendys or a south beach wrap lunch
snack: cheese stick and soy crackers
dinner: cheese sticks and crackers
That keeps me at 64 grams of protein without those nasty shakes or bars and around 800-1000 calories a day.
