OK- Just had to add to this thread...very interesting by the way... SLOW and STEADY WINS the race!!!- not that this is a race of course- BUT... I don't know if I'm fast or slow loser or what -BUT- I know that previously whenever I lost weight quickly- I put it back on- and more. I think that the longer it takes the more likely you are to establish healthy eating habits so that when our honeymoon phase is over we are prepared for our new lifestyle. I'd rather be prepared for the long haul than just a year or two. I so don't want to be posting on the revision board in the near future. I think everybody is doing just great. The whole muscle weighs more than fat... all things to consider... We WILL get there!!! Holly

Margaret, et al... I am right there with you guys, it has been either feast or famine for me losing-wise (if you will pardon the expression) ... I went for 2 months losing 1 lb a week if I was lucky, I also gained a few ... and then I started dropping again. Also, a consideration I think we don't look at enough is our starting weight... the bigger you are to start, the faster you lose... just the way it goes I'm told by the Doc. I'm only down a total of 77lbs since surgery, and was hoping for 100lbs at 6mos mark too... but the surgeon told me at my 6 mos visit (on Monday this week, the visit, not the anniversary :P) that I was actually AHEAD of where they expected me to be at this point. So the lesson I am trying to teach myself is that we are all doing great with how our bodies work individually, where we started and that slower is better for our skin (please please please!) You are doing wonderfully Margaret, so please don't feel badly about slower losing. And yes, I'm trying to give myself the pep talk too hehehe. Michele

I too am a slow loser. I have lost 67 lbs since my surgery. I have rheumatoid arthritis and am on steriods, and I think that is contributing. I had my 3 month appt may 5th, and I have only lost 8 lbs since then. I go up a pound, and down a pound, but I feel like I should have lost more. I need to work on increasing my exercise and I think I am eating too many carbs, I think they make me retain water. I am trying to focus on the positive, but its nice to know that I am not the only one going thru this! Jen 299/288/232

Ohhh hon, I know exactly how you feel. This week I didn't post either because I didn't lose one pound. I know I shouldn't get discouraged because the latest cycle is for me to stay in one place for over a week then drop 4-5 lbs. So I am still averaging about 2 lbs a week. Better then nothing I suppose and since I am still losing I am not going to complain...too much....hehe. You are doing great and just look at it this way...the slower you lose the less loose skin you will have when it's all over with.....that's my story and I'm sticking to it. So when I post next Monday and I have lost 3-5 lbs know that I am actually posting for 2 weeks....lol. Anna
