I am 5 months out. I have lost 65 lbs. I havent lost anything in 3 weeks. I go down 2 lbs, and back several times. I do have my period, so I usually lose after that. I am excercising and getting my fluids in. I have been averaging about 75g protein. Should I up the protein? Exercise more??? any suggestions would help. I am getting worried. My Dr wants me down another 14 lbs at my next appt in 2 months.. At this rate it wont happen!

Hey Jen: I don't really have any suggestions but wanted to say don't be discouraged! 14 pounds in 2 months will be a breeze! You did say you lose after you period and that you are exercising and getting your fluids in...so the weight has to let go soon. Upping your protein can't hurt...do you do protein shakes? If not, maybe you should add one or two a day to your diet and see if that helps. Keep us posted on how things are going!

Hey Jen, you will do it. Keep the faith sister. I did about the same thing as you at -65lbs and then started to lose again. It will happen. Are you getting enough calories. Try fitday.com or one of the others to see if you are getting enough. I wasn't and my body was in starvation mode. I was at about 600 calories a day. Hope this helps!! (((hugs))) Anna

Jennifer- I wish I had some better suggestions for you, but I think everyone will experience a stall at some point. For the first time since I had surgery, I did not lose last week... and I did everything right. I don't think there is necessarily a connection sometimes about doing things right and the weight coming off. I do find that increasing my carbs, ironically, seems to have better results for me than all-protein, but I think your body is probably just playing catch up right now. Try to jump start your metabolism by eating 2-3 snacks a day, or 5-6 4 oz meals spread out through the day. And, exercise of course helps gets it going too. Good luck on a great week! Belle

Wait it out! Track on fitday a couple of days just to be sure you're eating enough, maybe up your protein 10-20g for a couple of weeks. Other than that, just wait it out. IT WILL COME OFF!! I'm slow according to my doctor's goals as well, but he assures me that I'm doing great. The exercise, especially if you're doing any weight training (which I am) can slow the weight loss some, but will greatly impact your ability to keep the weight off. Slower loss also helps with some of the skin issues. Press on! Don't get discouraged!

Hi Jennifer, I too am now officially 5 months out. I have had 2 stalls.. one at 10 weeks and a couple of weeks ago I had been on a 3 week stall. I had lost a total of 1 pound in 3 weeks. All of a sudden I am starting to lose again. I do try and get over 80 grams of protein and noticed drinking my water seems to have helped. I am so bad at getting in my water. I am lucky to get in 32 ounces a day. No Kidding !! I have lost 55 since my surgery and a total of 76 if I count the 21 I lost pre surgery. The Dr. told me I am on track. He likes to see a loss at 10 pounds a month. Plus I have to lose another 30 to be at goal and I guess the closer you get it will be harder to lose. So don't be discouraged ......... The scale will move again. It will just take time. Try to be patient... I know it is hard especially when we want it all gone by tomorrow. You are doing good. I am sending you fairy dust to jump start you again. Hugs, Roxanne
