Plastic Surgery?
If you don't mind sharing?
I know that a lot of you wonderful gals are getting close to your goal weights, so I am curious how many of you have started thinking about PS consults, what--if anything-- you want done, time frame, etc.?
I still have about 60 pounds to lose before I will schedule my consult, but I have noticed the more I lose, the longer my PS "wish list" gets! When I am at goal I will be down 160 pounds in around a year (HOPEFULLY) and I definitely want the extra skin removed... (okay, and I want my DD's back too! The girls are lookin' pretty sad these days!)

I was told I can't even do a consult for 12 or 18 months after my surgery date. My arms were the first thing that were gross- but I must have gotten used to them. My boobs are pathetic- my 42DD are now 38c"s and often get lost under my armpits. My multiple pouch- which I think you have too- is the worst. My legs are really unattractive- but I can't come close to saying I've done everything I can as to toning them with exercise.
I posted once before that at one year a girl was considering plastic surgery and waited a year exercising and she really shifted stuff around.
I have no idea what my goal weight should be- so I don't even know if I'm close...the only thing I'm pretty sure of is the triplet pouch has got to go!!!
That's where I'm at...

Holly-
You crack me up! I swear, my boobs get lost under my arms, too, especially when I lay down! I also have gone from a DD to a full C. It did not help that I weaned the twins the week before the surgery, so you could almost literally watch them disappear at first. I definitely have the multiple pouch too. Now that I can feel where my stomach muscles are, it became very clear that even with no fat on my tummy, it will not be anywhere close to flat! uhg!
12-18 months for the consult?! Ouch! The surgeon I will likely use just wants you to be at your goal weight, or very close to it.
I don't do toning exercises like I should. Although I cannot imagine that it could improve my uppor arms and thighs to the degree they need!!!

Hi Belle -
I'm going to need ps on my arms definitley. They are gross.....I keep telling my hubby that I'm going to get my arms and boobs done at the same time. I was told that you need to be at goal weight or even be there for at least a year after you hit goal. I have to start saving anyway - my insurance will not cover it or so they stated to me w/ my surgery approval letter.
I have to admit that ps actually scares me more than the bypass surgery. I have known alot of people that got work done and they say it hurts like crazy.... I guess I'll have to worry about that when I get there.
I think in the mean time I will have to step up the toning exercises - weight and all.

The nurse at my doctor's office said that the Plastic Surgeon comes in twice a year to do consults and I should be eligilble by January to have surgery. I think you have to be at goal weight (but who determines that?) and maintain for a few months? I'm not really sure though. UGH, my stomach is the worst and my breast next. My arms I can deal with!!!!!
Plastic surgery? Yes...please.
My stomach is the worst off...but truthfully a bit of that was already there due to three big babies and two c-sections. Plus, during my RNY surgery, my surgeon found a sizable hernia that had probably been there for a while...so that's certainly not helping the tummy to flatten out any! It just looks like a big wad of pizza dough!! I can't wait to have that hernia fixed, the excess skin and all of it's friends (stretch marks) thrown in the scrap bucket!!
My arms and legs are fine...except a few ugly vericose veins on my legs..but those run in my family and I would have likely had them even if I never was fat.
Boobs? They are okay for now...smaller (thank goodness) than they used to be, but nothing to complain about yet. We'll see, but I HATE implants...they just don't look even remotely natural to me. Plus, the knowledge that I would have about 10 good years with them before I need to have them replaced...no thank you. However, I have already had a breast reduction about 8 years ago, and I know that a lift goes pretty much like that surgery...so a maybe on that one.
I guess it all really comes down to price and what I can afford at the time...because there is no guarantee of insurance helping out.

I already know what I am doing. I am having a lower body lift, breast lift with implants and arm lift (maybe). I have been lucky with my stomach it really is not big and I have no pouch. It is the first place I lost weight but I do have strecth marks from having my sons. They were each 10lbs and 23 3/4in. long. I have lost 80lbs so far and not really a lot of sagging but with 80 to go I don't know what it will be like. I have money already put away and I work part-time as a graphic artist and all that will go for it. I figure I have one year to save up so it should not be a problem.
I have thought about this a lot so here is my plan: I don't have a problem with implants but I don't really want everyone knowing that I had them. Right now I am a D cup so I am going to use those fake ones from Fredricks of Hollywood to fill me out as I lose wieght until I have the surgery. Weird I didn't mind telling people about the wls but fake boobs I can't do it.
Can you tell I have put a lot of thought into it?
I appreciate hearing what you all are thinking!
I know my insurance will pay for the tummy tuck because of the panice (or whatever that flap of skin is called!) and they would probably pay for a breast reduction, but like I said, I am thinking that this won't likely be needed now.
Guinn- I have thought a lot about it too! I cannot even tell people about the RNY so I know I will NOT be telling anyone about implants if I end up having them! It will be our little secret! lol!
My wishlist is: lower body lift or tummy tuck, breast lift with possible implants, arm and thigh reduction. If I really have all this work done, I am afraid I'll look like Frankenstien's monster from all the scars, but better than a Sharpei from all the extra skin!!!

Did you like my implant theory? I don't mind saying I got a tummy tuck or arm lift but something about the implants I can't tell anyone. This way no one will know. Those fake ones from Fredricks even have fake nipples on them. How cool is that!?
I can deal with the scars too. I am sure they will fade after a year. It all seems worth it to me to have a decent body back.
I just will be putting a few extra hours part-time to pay for it. I do work full time as a Marketing Director so I hope it doesn't burn me out.
I'm with Janie on this one. Laparoscopic surgery has been a cakewalk (gall bladder, knees, RNY...)- but the open stuff is a whole different ball of wax for me. I'm afraid of the pain of plastic surgery- I've heard it's pretty bad and they look awful after they have it on the TV shows like Dr 90210...
