What's On the Menu...What Did You Eat Today???
You guys are doing great keeping track. I hardly measure anymore unless it's my protein shake or it's prepackaged and it says the portion. I just eyeball it and usually my eyes deceive me because I'm full before I finish. Here is me:
B- Matric Chocolate Shake made w/milk & water and a little Arctic Freeze protein added- Guessing 30 grams of protein
S- 2 pretzels w/peanut butter
L- 1 Peanut Butter Nature Valley Granola bar - I can't remember the protein, I think 3 grams but the calories were 90. I love these!!!
D- Taco Bell Fiesta Chicken Salad-Maybe 1/4, protein from the beans and chicken but I don't know how much.
S- Half a banana with 2 tsp peanut butter
1 sf popscicle
Water- I didn't keep track but probably not enough
Vitamins- got all of them in!
1 cappuccino with fake sugar
1 sweet and sour meatball, it was the size of a melon baller.
It sure sounds like I like peanut butter but really I don't like it very much. I think my surgery has made it more tolerable though and even enjoyable with certain things.
I think I will food journal and really see how much protein, calories, and sugar I am consuming. After looking at this it doesn't look like I ate so well. If I am out and about I make choices like these and if I'm home it seems like although I eat better I may be eating more...it sometimes seems like a double-edge sword!
I'll try and keep track a few days this week.
God Bless!
Adrianne
Hey Adrianne: Have you tried tracking on fitday.com?? I like that sight..you can put in the type of foods you eat and the amount and it calculates the calories, fat, protein and carbs for you. You can also track your water intake, vitamin intake and so many other things. You can even do reports showing how your nutrition adds up for a week (Like your protein or fat intake) for a month or 6 months. I use it all the time.
And since I had surgery I ate a few things more often than before surgery...I am not a sea food person at all but I ate salmon yesterday...it was only about 1 oz and I had to brush my teeth after I was done to get rid of the taste..but it did not gross me out as usual. I also eat tuna at least once a month and it is not as gross as it used to be.
I have to tell you ladies what I ate on Saturday... It is just amazing, and terrifying to me still, that I got this much food in. I don't know what was going on, but I ate all day, just like old times. I feel very nervous and depressed over it, but am just trying to look forward and not repeat it...
B: McD's Breakfast burrito (300)
S: carrots, raddishes, and tomatoes with Ranch dressing drizzled over (100)
L: Tortilla with left over fajita meat, tomatoes, and 1 TB sour cream (250?)
S: SF almond crunch ice cream bar (150)
D: Same as lunch (250?)
S: Soy Joy Bar (LOVE THESE!) and watermelon (200?)
S: more veggies with Ranch AND an orange (150)
That is 1300 calories, and I am guessing it might be more (but sometimes I find I over-estimate calories)! The size of the meals I ate were not too large, it is just that I ate FOUR SNACKS! AND, Sunday was almost as bad.... 3 snacks, but my calories were lower.
Hopefully I'll meet the goals that I have set for myself on the weekly weigh-in board. So far this morning I have had a Pria Nutrition Bar for breakfast (170 cal, 11 proteins). After it settles, I am going to go work on my water. I think part of this may be dehydration.
